The GTX Titan X owners thread.

Interesting. I have nothing official from them. Sorry. I just read something recently on OCN from a UK customer who rma'd a card with an after market cooler on it with no problems. Let me phone or email gigabyte and get an official response. I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Cheers and appreciate that. I would have no problems putting a block on anyways but it is nice to see a company who would actively allow that.

lol :D

Edit:

I actually gave it a write up. I will dig it up, as I see loads of others have the same sense of humour as me :D

Great to see BFG again on this beast car
I was lucky enough to receive a review sample of this card and it really is amazing. It was hooked up to a 144Hz 12K monitor as soon as the delivery driver had cleared off. My first impressions were "Wow!" This thing really flies and it gave me an average of 136 fps with everything turned on to the max (16xMSAA) in BF Hardline. The next game I tried was a beta of Half Life 3 and this was incredible and so fluid. Well done to BFG on this incredible card

Is there any word on how these compare to a pair of SLI 780's (not Ti) @ 4k. I'm aware the VRAM will be a massive help, but other than that I've not really seen anything?

Mine is being delivered tomorrow. I'm coming from a couple of vanilla 780's. I'll let you know how it compares. Don't know about you but I recently have had major issues with SLI in some games. Hope this at least matches my current setup though I'm not convinced it will be as fast. However even if it's a bit slower I'll be happy to be rid of SLI.

Wasn't the 295x2 a $999 card at one point? And the 290X 8GB Sapphire $999 at launch??

By that standard is the Titan X price really that bad???

The 295x2 pricing was AMD trying to follow NVs pricing footsteps.

290X 8GB Sapphire pricing was because of Sapphire, 8GB was not reference spec at the time.

But make no mistake when it comes to high prices.
NV was the first to price a dual at the $1000.

The first to price a single GPU at the $1000 which replaces the price of the dual GPU which came before.

The first to price a dual GPU at $3000 which now makes the single GPU at the $1000 look normal to some and the now hiked up mid range card to pretty much the price of what used to be the flagship years ago.

And expect any more top end dual GPUs from NV to be in the £1500-£2000 range because as is shown there single GPUs have filled the £900-1000 spot.

At this rate it wont be long until we see the first reference £750 mid range card.
