To be honest, though I like much of the game, I feel the game itself too predictable. I think it suffers from having the levels being too small, and having specific trigger areas for most of the zombie hordes which can be exploited.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying. The game isn't about tactics or even skill, it's about learning the spawn points and grinding to get better guns. And then exploiting the mechanics of the game to finish the levels.

Watching Raggs finish the level on his own, I really got to see how limited this game is. I mean, come on, running in a circle shouldn't work. There were even times when the mobs ran right past Raggs.

One person running forward and tripping the spawn while the others wait in one spot in a line for the mobs. That's not really playing the game is it? I mean there was a couple of times where I was seriously bored. Like the first time when we came out of the safe house and Raggs told us to stay on the ledge while he went and spawned mobs while we told him from which direction they were coming. I was bored out of my mind after a while and just came down, didn't care if I lived or died.

The best moments of the games last night were when somebody spawned mobs by mistake.

I want to feel tension and excitement when I play these types of games. I don't want to just stand in the one spot and shoot into a horde of mobs. I don't want the tactics to be run in circle because the mobs can't touch you if you do, or stand there because no mobs spawn there. Tactics should be deciding to stay in pairs, or not, covering a section of the room etc.

haha, sorry, Just a bit of rant there!! :p I just wish the game was better too. It's probably limited by the Quest 2 specs. And I am expecting too much. I think it's an ok game and it's good playing it with you guys for the bit of banter as well, but I don't think it's great game. Hoping that DLC's improve it going forward.

Larger levels would be nice, but I wonder if that's a limit of the q2 kicking in?

EDIT - I would like to see more spawns coming from behind, that would help disrupt a lot of the firing squad positions you can take up.

The AI and level size is probably a limit of the Quest 2.

I don't know what they would be able to do now to change it up. Would it be too much of an overhaul of the existing game? They need a melee option and they also need mobs that throw things at you. The game needs more than bullet sponges to make it difficult. One thing they could do is provide more cover in rooms and areas and make it so players can't go back or maybe can't go too far away from each other. So if one player moves up, everyone has to move up. I don't know what the mechanic would be, maybe because of the cold one player has a special heater, stray outside the range of the heater and you die. Players would need to learn to play together to win.

I've suggested that more spawns appear behind. Either flankinga firing line or cutting a runner off.

Again, i was using nightmare strategies so it would feel a little slow on masters. Holding that ledge in nightmare is no easy feat.

What I was saying wasn't a dig at you or the strategies that you were using. I just expected/hoped for more from the game.

So you are going from an 80Mb/s line to an 80Mb/s line? Sounds like an amazing upgrade :p

Was the guy that sold you that upgrade, this guy?

Ok, for the next few weeks for the hangout days, can we stick to games that can be played on the Quest2 without needing a PC. It doesn't matter if you guys play on PC, as long as I can join in from the Quest 2.

Electrical outage today for a split second which managed to break my 6900XT :( So I have no GPU for the moment until I get an RMA replacement. God knows how long that will take in the current climate.

Sorry to hear that Melmac, that sucks!
Do you have a surge protector?

As for my internet, I'm on Virgin cable. I'm glad I've got such a fast connection as I'm having to work from home and using a VPN to connect to my work network.
