To be honest, though I like much of the game, I feel the game itself too predictable. I think it suffers from having the levels being too small, and having specific trigger areas for most of the zombie hordes which can be exploited.
I agree with a lot of what you are saying. The game isn't about tactics or even skill, it's about learning the spawn points and grinding to get better guns. And then exploiting the mechanics of the game to finish the levels.
Watching Raggs finish the level on his own, I really got to see how limited this game is. I mean, come on, running in a circle shouldn't work. There were even times when the mobs ran right past Raggs.
One person running forward and tripping the spawn while the others wait in one spot in a line for the mobs. That's not really playing the game is it? I mean there was a couple of times where I was seriously bored. Like the first time when we came out of the safe house and Raggs told us to stay on the ledge while he went and spawned mobs while we told him from which direction they were coming. I was bored out of my mind after a while and just came down, didn't care if I lived or died.
The best moments of the games last night were when somebody spawned mobs by mistake.
I want to feel tension and excitement when I play these types of games. I don't want to just stand in the one spot and shoot into a horde of mobs. I don't want the tactics to be run in circle because the mobs can't touch you if you do, or stand there because no mobs spawn there. Tactics should be deciding to stay in pairs, or not, covering a section of the room etc.
haha, sorry, Just a bit of rant there!! I just wish the game was better too. It's probably limited by the Quest 2 specs. And I am expecting too much. I think it's an ok game and it's good playing it with you guys for the bit of banter as well, but I don't think it's great game. Hoping that DLC's improve it going forward.
