The Happy thread - Positive posts only :-)

caught some sprats earlier on a 6 foot ugly stik rod then gave my dad a shot and he got 5 at a time lol

used em as bait, nice mackerel bait, only use dead bait so smacked em on the head with my swiss army knife, the larger preist would have just splatterped them, used em on bait with a 1 ounce sea float on a 9 foot spinning rod so free unlimited bait, the cost of sprats and bait in general made me smile so much free bait for a little 60 quid rod and reel combo and one that could land a mackerel :D

these wee rods https://www.fishingmegastore.com/sp...hi-lite-6ft-combo-assorted-colours~84298.html

i have the orange one :P i have 13 to 14 foot beach casters but enjoying that rod next to my abu devil 80 gram rod with a float and this little orange one, caught 8 mackerel on the float recently :)

Sounds like you've had a lovely time! Any personal recommendations of things to see/do in Yorkshire? I'm very much into hiking and outdoorsy things (got a trip to Peak District next month), but I haven't been up to Yorkshire yet. Yorkshire Moors is on my list to explore.
All of the above :)
Out of the three though, a visit to Sutton Bank for the "Finest View in England" is probably the one you need to fit in to a visit - it's honestly breathtaking and I could have stayed there for ages

Just had significant surgery on my leg. I'm in a lot of pain, heavily medicated, zero weight bearing on that leg and generally not having the best time.

But I'm so happy. My other half is just amazing and I can't even put into words how much it means she is caring for me (I'm not good at letting people wait on me). Of all the things I expected to feel from the surgery and recovery, happiness wasn't one of them. But happily, here I am :).

This is wonderful to hear. I'm currently looking after my partner as she's about 2 weeks post surgery. She can't walk far or lift anything, and has significant swelling and nerve pain. I can't say I'm perfect and have been relying on a lot of last minute oven/convenience food. But we're enjoying that, and I've had some brilliant yellow sticker hauls going shopping near dinner time :D

Haha brilliant. Yea the first two nights devolved into takeaway for us but we're better now. Hope she's on the mend soon!

After last week with what I think is the current case of mega-flu/cold (the mrs also has been off late last week too) including two days in bed, stuffed with drugs. Still got some snots and sneezes but it's going. going. Wasn't pleasant but happy that's almost sorted. Back to looking for work now I've finally finished the cyber security course too. So, at the moment all good.
