If you try to type the smiley/variations (text-based), the forum software renders them into the yellow graphic smiley as per your post. What I did was put a bold / slash bold in between each character which tricks the software into thinking that I'm entering them as separate characters. It will also work with underline / slash underline or italics / slash italics.

Cab to the office tomorrow, staying the night over at the Wharf so picking up my new passport is 2 mins walk away on Friday morning. Weather will be good, cocktails on the roofbar or one of the boat bars and then Friday off.

After my 3rd acupuncture session I'm finally beginning to feel that my tennis elbow is on the mend.
I've suffered with it for nearly 2 years so this development makes me extremely happy :D
