you can harvest most years up until november usually, then i compost all plants except ones i chouse to overwinter, i have loads of pods in my polly tunnel, but not one is ripeing yet.

Sadly wasn't really able to grow any chillies this year due to being in the throws of packing up and moving house when seeds needed sowing etc so today I got a couple of plants with a view to getting a few chillies and attempting to over winter the plants.

I got a Peruvian Purple:

And an Aurora:

Hadn't heard of either but they looked pretty!

Nice plants, but there classed as exotics i think, i don't think they have a nice taste, but i think there for show really, let us know.

I'll throw up some more pics later, lots of ripe fruit now, the only plant that is very slow to ripen is the Scotch bonnet, which is constantly sprouting new flowers, it's insane the amount of small flower buds on it now.

Still yet to purchase the grow tent for indoor growing as I'm undecided whether growing chillies is really something nice to do just once a year, not sure I'd have the patience to be constantly growing all year round, plus the running costs is something to consider.

some of my chilli's starting to ripe now.

Anyway, what i just had for dinner, cherry bomb, cucumber and tomato sandwidch, very tasty chilli but not really that hot.

Yeh, my 7 pot is crossed with the habanera, its actually about 1million 1 hundred thousand sv, got it as a little plant from the person that crossed it(Matt from Simpsons Seeds), i know its to hot for my normal chilli con carne, i usually use bonnets, but will be trying the fatalii habanera, in my chilli tomorrow night, its not a normal fatalii yellow by the way as i said its fatalli habanera, again a cross from matt of simpson seeds, chilli producer.

I tried one of the red Aurora chillies last night, the flesh is really rather like a bog standard red pepper but thepith and seeds had quite a strong hilli hit, I think they'll be great for adding a bit of heat to dishes without it being ridiculous. Not bad from a very pretty looking plant!

One of my serrano chillis has gone red and the rest will be in a day or two. Does anyone know how long I can leave them on the plant when they are red?

Not to long, a week roughly, look at the stalks they will start to turn Bren, then the chili starts to soften and they fall off.

Picked 8 maules upyesterday and finally ging to have a Crop of king Moricha, it's only taken three years. Some huge poblanos as well.

King Moricha

Poblanos several that size.

Got some massive pots to sort my wardrobe ones out, they've got unruly, tangled up etc. loads of curry chilis on them. Need to chuck two into the garden, repot the remaining 4 and give them a good trim.

Sorted the wardrobe out, this 7 plants down to 4 and a significant hair cut for them all, will keep propounding them and hopefully fill them out. Lost a lot of I ripe chilis Andersen more flowers, but grow lights mean unlimited grow season, so long term I think it's best.
1 curry
1 king Moricha
1 nagalah
1 poblano

1 solitary nagalah chilli.

Two curry plants, that once reported wil have to go into the garden, and well cope with it or die.

In the past I've chopped mine up and thrown them into the freezer in a freezer bag. Didn't seem to do them much harm.

Or I've dried them and made chilli oil :)

I had one of my Jalapeños last night. Thought it would be nice with a bit of cheese on a cracker :p (Yes sophisticated wine and cheese parties for me nowadays).

My mouth was on fire! Got to be the hottest chilli I have tasted that I have grown. It was only a Jalapeño!
