Stick LOTRO on max settings and it looks absolutely stunning in places. I wouldnt let Sleepery see you saying that LOTRO looks gash, he has quite the catalogue of impressive LOTRO screenshots.

Yes, judge an mmo on a heavily compressed jpeg file. Honestly, the shots I've taken aren't fantastic but I think they look great for what they are.
You're right. As I run the game windowed I've scaled it down a bit so as not to ruin performance in game. For me, LOTRO is the best looking mmo out there.

They really do look gash. Settings down for raiding?
I always found that while the game looked pretty in certain spots it was pretty generic in most.
I'm rather surprised by what is considered "gash", not above average but not great, not average, not below average.... but "gash". Quite surprised indeed. If some of the screenshots on this page qualify on the scale as "gash" then goodness knows what some games must qualify as ... "super gash" I guess. Maybe what I call gash is vastly different from most people or something, for me I would say that minecraft has gash graphics, or doom, or civilization 1. I certainly wouldn't describe LoTRO as "gash" on the graphics scale, as I say though, maybe its just down to my own ratings of graphics and I am different from the norm

No i've never been blown away by the graphics either, perhaps because there is nearly no visual thrill at all, they are very bland overall your right, but to tell me that all MMOs look gash is a stupid statement, here are some MMOs, not looking gash.

Um, i don't believe i said anything about all MMO's having bad graphics. It's neither something i think nor would say, musta been someone else.
Those Final Fantasy pics look really good, just a shame it really doesn't look like my type of game.

MMO engines are always very good at landscaspes, even WoW mazed out can look very good with some of it's draw distances and world design, looks like trash up close of course, can think of loads of examples of that in the MMO world.
