The High-Res Screenshot Thread!

Those I've seen have been rather disappointing, with some awful textures [just look at that rug above ] and inadequate, or non functioning AA.

I loved the first two, but will wait on price drops before picking this up.

you couldn't be more wrong.

textures are superb and the AA capabilities of MSAA and FXAA are tip top.

the game is stunning.

im using just MSAA. don't understand why some people use both MSAA and FXAA.

Thanks. A quick search reminded me that I could just use paint to convert bmp to png.

Haven't used paint in years, I'm not sure what kind of paint is out now, but if i remember correctly opening a high quality image in it, and then resaving as another format, especially jpeg and png seriously dampened the quality.

Although, like I said, not used it in years, not since XP was the daddy of Windows, so it could be a lot better :p

Use ‘MSI Afterburner’ and save straight to 'png' via the screen capture settings. Also, as just said, captures your screenshots and video if you want it to.

Also I use http://imageshack.us/ imageshack, no limit, well don't think so.. Well 5mb per image but no storage limit, I mean..

Perfect...

Speaking of Skyrim, I don't think it is too polite to sit here and have a convorsation in a topic like this :p so I'll post a few screenshots I took whilst recording earlier :P and as for Dungeon Siege III, I hated the negative press that game got, it did what the series was known for, brilliant gameplay with epic lewtz, anyone going into a Dungeon Siege title expecting a MGS level story is clearly a muppet, and not a Kermit kind of muppet :p

Such a great looking game after some serious modding :) I haven't even got any retexture mods except the landscape either :P yet...

What mod did u use for that little eye candy of yours?

Just going by what I'd seen posted so far [though some of the above are nice :)]... have seen the FXAA v MSAA screens now, showing FXAA working well, MSAA does not though... anyway, at least you can remove the jaggies.

I am very happy to be proved wrong on this, as I loved the first two, and I really wanted this to be good... MP2 was brilliantly optimised when it came out as well.

You have to admit some of the textures are not that great :p

SS-89, what mods are you using for those graphics, surely that isn't vanilla?

I love how Oblivion still holds its own despite being 7 years old now

i actually think vanilla skyrim looks better than 99 percent of the mods added to it

max payne lol looks so consoley . what is it with these devs making crappy looking games. cant wait till next gen consoles are here then they might put the effort in to actually push things forward.

Consoles have seriously set back the advancement of the video game industry.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSXyztq_0uM - This is a pretty good example of what we could actually be playing today if it wasn't for the amount of time companies like Microsoft etc. have wasted on the casual market, instead we have to wait for years, but you know, money > everything.

Majority are texture mods and one lighting mod. Looks considerably better than vanilla imo.

Have you tried an ENB? Drastically improves the quality, the best one IMO is Sharpshooter's ENB as it gives brilliant quality with little to no performance hit, but if you have a more beefier rig THIS might be for you, I'd personally say its about 10-20% better than Sharpshooter's, but can have quite the performance hit.

More developers should make PC only titles. If games like this were released people would move to PC gaming and sack off their 8 year old consoles

I imagine this would force Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo to hurry up and bring our consoles with the required power for such games

I think Microsoft and Sony have their next consoles just around the corner, and I'm not trying to senselessly hate on Nintendo or the Wii but they aren't in the equation when it comes to this level of graphics, I don't think they ever will be, they've chosen to appeal to a wider more casual audience and develop more gimmicky hardware, its a shame though because the GameCube was a serious console last generation. :(

I've tried all the ENB mods (Including those listed) and tbh I'm not really a fan of the processing effects. Much prefer how my game looks now.

Well the only important thing that matters is what your happy with within your game, but I personally believe ENB's make the game look a hell of a lot more realistic, with the lighting and the focus features.

Well I might give it another shot but use my injector along with the enb to see if that gives a more favourable outcome.
