Might have to give it try the graphics are great, can you can play on the same sever with friends and the best score at the end of the round wins like in DH2005?
Me and a couple of mates used to sit in vent and play this at the same time, obviously all totally different hunts for each of us but we were all still learning the game at the time and chatting helped kill some of the down time a bit between trying to pick up tracks.
You do need to agree to shut up a bit though when one of you is close to some prey as you need to be able to hear what is going on in game a lot of the time and then concentrate as it can get quite tense when getting into position and then ready to shot.
But it can work quite well playing it like that and then bragging about your score on each kill. Plus you can always look at each others hunt reports afterwards to make sure they are not exaggerating, though there is no way of proving/disproving the stories about 'the one that got away'.
There are also global and friend based leader boards for score and distance for each of the animal types. So if you have a few people on your friends list it can get quite competitive trying to one up each other.
But you should definitely give it try. I haven't renewed my membership for ages now but quite often when this thread gets bumped I fire it up for a quick go of what is freely available to play and get really tempted to sub up again. Just never seem to have the time for gaming these days to make the most of it and when I do it's normally just jump on BF3 as that's where most of my other online buddies will be.
But even the free to play bit of this is nice to jump into every once and a while. And for what ever time it costs you to download and install it, even if you are only slightly interested and it sounds like you are, then I'd say that would be time well spent. Just don't blame me when you go crazy and buy a membership and all the toys that are in it.
