The Hunter

Was about to renew my licence when I realised I've spent over £40 on this game in the last 2 years.

I can't go throwing money at the same game and am not going to be participating in this kind of model again.

hmmm don't know what to make of this, on the one hand it looks great plays great and is surprisingly tense, yet on the other hand I can't stand playing it because it just keeps rubbing in how I need to buy stuff.

I realise that I may need to buy the licences or whatever but tbh its putting me off even trying to make my mind up!

basically it costs you about 32 quid avg a year to play.

for that there is a hell of a lot of content. also there is mp now and a lot of new stuff always being done. its always evolving and its the price of a normal decent game.

some will like it some wont like it . if you play the competitions the game really does take a extra awesome turn and really does come to life but you need to put time and effort in to learn the game as it isn't a console port and is a pure pc game. thats why i mainly play it as its exactly what it says and the devs tell you exactly what is what .

its a beautiful looking game and dg is right competitions are great, but as said the time and effort is a lot to ask,i mean ive only played 885 hours so far which isnt that much over 4 years got a few trophies too i think the game is really rewarding. :)

yeah ive found millions of the female ones, but no males :(
Males spook very easily, if you are running around rather than walking you will scare them off before you see them. The only time I run is if I'm tracking a wounded animal that I didn't manage to kill cleanly and I'm not bothered about warning the rest of the wildlife about my presence.

yeah you shouldn't run really i do becuase i know the game inside out and i know when you should and shouldnt run.

so best to be careful at first while you learn how to play.

details for patch today

Game Update
Posted on August 6, 2013 by Herman Nilsson

Changes
* The track indicators are a bit more transparent

Bug fixes
* Fix for crash when shooting an animal near a bait site
* Charging animals don’t run in circles any more
* Fix for unspawned animals not getting spooked by weapon shot. (Because of this animals could call too soon after a shot)
* Ragdolls do not slide as much in slopes
* Fix for arrows getting stuck in air when the animal with the arrow despawns.
* Fix for 3D Archery Range bug (no hit data was shown)
* Ammo count is updated when shooting at ranges
* Clues are not reset when fast traveling. (all were counted as new before)
* Scope view is not rendered over the menus in single player
* Animal weight estimation is as good or better when spotting compared to tracks. If you spot an animal first, you will get the same weight estimate on tracks. If you track an animal and then spot it, the weight estimate can be updated once
* Game zooms out when reloading the muzzle loader when aiming
* Removed a deep hole in the ground on the southern island of WH reserve
* Stop all sounds when an animal dies. (so the attack sound does not continue when dead)
* fix for entering/exiting world items (game thought world item was full when it wasn’t – “Player limit reached”)
* Pathfinding maps on Hirschfelden have been updated so animals won’t get stuck in trees as often.
* Fixed a minor tracking bug.

thats why i love these devs half of them are on holiday but still banging out fixes and patches constantly
