You've got no idea what people get up to in their private lives, there is a reason for that, its their private life. There are likely millions in the UK that pay for sex in one form or another and they are likely in government and at the top of business and media. Edwards was a respected presenter and I believe he was lauded for his coverage of the Queen's death and her funeral. I don't really watch live TV but people spoke well of him in the Queen's death thread.

So don't watch him, chances are you might not get a chance to anyway unless he can somehow move pass this. What someone gets up to in their bedroom or online with consenting adults is none of our business.

A sleazy individual who seems very suspect IMO, fortunately, I don't think any serious media organisations would be employing him at least certainly not as a serious news reader.

My view at the time was that I suspected there was some political pressure to arrest him recently because of his open bragging and that the investigators (who were likely already investigating him) had to rush into that arrest (and extend his stay in custody) as they hadn't yet been able to build a case.. as a result he's currently free but I wouldn't be surprised if he does face charges later if there is indeed some truth to what he has openly bragged about. Edit: he has in fact now been charged.

So many people claim the mental health issues these days.

Sure someone who got abused as a child or someone who did 2 tours of Vietnam. Totally understandable.

Someone who got caught literally with his pants down has no sympathy from me I am afraid. Mental hospital for that give me a break. The same crocodile tears when Phil got caught is all I see.

Also, the government can take away the BBC's license fee at any moment. The government approves the charging of it or otherwise, and the government makes it a legal requirement to pay.

If it's brodcasted live, but if you don't bother watching live TV or bbc iplayer then you don't need one.
