Laugh at my pain:
I don't really know what I was doing with that 4th interval. Sort of caught me out so it was all over the place. Felt good in the 5th but in the 6th things started to fall apart
TR did boost my FTP a whopping 7 watts on Sunday and this was my first ride at the new 'level'. I did enjoy it though, for what it's worth! "the intervals don't get easier, you get faster." In my case the intervals don't get easier, they get longer!
Though it's always nice to look back on the calendar. Back in January my VO2 max sessions were something like 30s on at 202 with 30s off. On Thursday I have a sweet-spot ride booked in and that has me doing 20 minutes at 198w with a rest and then another 20 minutes. So it's quite nice to see how far I've come in a few months.
I think my plan of hitting 3.5w/kg by the end of the year is a bit too aspirational but if I can end the year as a solid 3.2 I'll chalk my first year of actual training as a success.
Which volume are you doing? I've done a Low Volume plan this time but thinking I may try and do a medium volume once my build part of the plan is over
