The Intel Arc owners thread

Best sort out the CPU overhead otherwise not interested. Also hardware DX9.
I think you should just buy something else. :D

Unrelated to any B770, but I changed Black Myth Wukong to use XeSS 2, rather than the garbage version it uses by default. What a difference it makes. Running it at a lower res for upscale, means I am not missing the frame gen of FSR. The difference in the water between FSR and XeSS is extreme.

When used it last time I BSOD and it killed my OS.

Last time i'll use that, just use uninstall, reboot and install new drivers.

Think I got to the bottom of it, wasn't my machine. There was a stray header from the case that was floating around and resting on an unused header port on the mobo :o

Anyone with Sparkle A380 ELF (the ITX sized one) here? How does the fan work for you? Mine's ramping up and down 10 times a minute, it's even worse on idle, it just stops completely, then ramps up, repeat, and since this is in a system that's on 24/7, which means it's doing that 14400 times a day, that can't be good for the longevity of the fan, I'd rather have the fan run constantly or at least not run for an extended period of time and only starting when some cooling is needed.

Looking around, looks like it's a normal thing for this particular GPU and there doesn't seem to be a solution for this outside of using 4 pin motherboard -> GPU fan adapter, system isn't using Windows so my options for fan control are limited, or non-existent, I tried using LACT, didn't work.

The GPU is also hardlocked to 43w TDP, which is a bit disappointing but not the issue here.

Intel Graphics Software Known Issues
  • Intel Graphics Software may experience a very intermittent application crash when navigating pages or dialogue boxes due to an underlying framework issue. A fix will be made available once WinAppSDK 1.7 is available for upgrade. The application can be re-launched without issue as a workaround.
  • When using the settings, preferences, reset all settings option in Windows 10, the application may experience an intermittent crash. Settings can be reset from individual pages without issue.
  • Intel Graphics Software may sometimes experience a single application crash on the first re-arrange of metrics within the select metrics window. Subsequent usage will not be affected.
  • FPS Limiter may not limit FPS with VSync ON and Low Latency Mode enabled.
  • Profile controls don't always supersede global controls.
  • Display scaling at non-native panel resolutions might result in unintended scaling.
  • Intel Graphics Software may not uninstall entirely when uninstalling using Add or Remove Programs.
Intel Graphics Software Performance Tuning (BETA)
  • Intel Graphics Software Performance Tuning is currently in Beta. As such, performance and features may behave unexpectedly. Intel will continue to refine the Performance Tuning software in future releases.
    • In multi-GPU scenarios with two performance-tuning capable devices, the performance tuning page may attempt to apply changes to one or more devices at once rather than individually based on the GPU selector.

A B770 Could be really popular if priced well. I'm hoping for near 4080 performance with 20GB, this would make me interested in upgrading, make it happen please Intel.

The B580 $250 (£230) MSRP was fake, this is the cheapest one at £275 (+20%) its the same in the US, you can't get one for under $300.

You can get a 4060 for less or a 7600 XT for £10 more.

Intel are not good value, they are not any sort of competition, they are just another GPU vendor trying to milk you, the only difference is Intel's GPU's and drivers are a lot like AMD's were in 2010.

People need to stop talking about Intel as they wish it to be rather than how it actually is, Intel are not your saviours.

Not for the FE / LE cards in the USA. But yes, the pricing here in the UK was poor and they should have been £50 cheaper.

No, they're not, but they could be if we keep encouraging them: compare Intel Arc with AMD Ryzen.

You're encouraging them for jibating MSRP, you can't say they are good value when the real on market price of them clearly is not. To correct mistakes of the past we are doubling down on the same mistakes.

Deal with them as they are, not how you wish them to be. They are £300, like every other GPU in its class.

I'll put it another way.

You see this for £360?

According to TPU the B580 needs to gain 31% to match that at 1440P, lets say Intel put out some B770 GPU that can, with the B580 already being £300 what makes you think the B770 will be significantly cheaper than £360?

The B580 seems very expensive in the UK, the cheapest here in Denmark is around 250 quid and that included 25% tax.
