The Intel Arc owners thread

Looking back it's amazing how quickly that market consolidated into a duopoly. Not to dwell to much on the past but I've always felt that if Commodore had made better decisions their future in the 90's could have been as developers of PC add-in cards. There engineers were some of best in the world and the Amiga was light years ahead of everything else upon it's release and with the right investments they would have developed a 3D card that would have been competitive.
They were great time's to be into gaming to see and experience all the changes and the transition from console to home PC`s.

The presenter makes the point that while four Arc Pro B70s don't give the same performance as a RTX Pro 6000 but cost far less - $10k for the RTX vs $4k for the four B70s.

I've just picked up a cheap B580 to pop in my Unraid rig.

Has anyone used these successfully for passthrough for a windows VM? anything key to be aware of?

I think that video from @Quartz above is in my to watch list !

Just to update this. Worked a charm.

Will tune up the VM over the next few days and then do some benchmarks. 14700k CPU, but only passing through a few of the performance cores (Isolated) along with the GPU, 32GB RAM and a USB controller card. Its currently just installed on the storage pool, I know I could use a separate M2 SSD, but seems pointless.

From what I can tell it should be very close to bare metal performance - ideal, as this has made my Unraid box a spare gaming PC for a fraction of other GPUs these days.

I'm surprised and disappointed that Intel isn't rushing to fill the gaming GPU gap with C or D series GPUs. A full fat Celestial should match a RTX 4090 and the 16 GB version be fairly priced at around the 9070 XT.
