***The iOS 5 Thread***

For those saying it's easy to go from iOS 5 beta4 back to iOS4 could you please explain how you're doing it?

I've reinstalled the current iTunes, putting in both recovery/DFU mode both of which fail the restore.

I've also tried a bunch of other methods which haven't been successful.

As far as I am aware, I thought you just had to reinstall the latest stable version of iTunes, put your iPhone into DFU mode (Which isn't the same as recovery mode), hold alt and click restore and select the latest iOS 4 release.

I've tried that, with both 4.3.3 and 4.3.5.

Actually, thinking about it I don't think you have to alt+click restore as it will restore to the latest version by downloading off the Apple servers.

It'll definitely have to be 4.3.5. I would try just clicking restore and downloading the version from the servers.

I tried that method as well, in fact that was how I got the 4.3.5 ISPW in the first place.

Interesting that a lot of the things i JB'd my iPhone 4 for are now standard... shame the actual customisation is still poor... look forward to the iOS 5 JB!

The main thing in jailbreak that I miss (and I don't think it's available yet) is the SBSettings. Being able to turn off Wifi and others in the notification bar is a must! I'm pretty surprised Apple didn't include this as a notification centre widget...

without the jailbreak my iphone 4 battery has got markedly better since i'm no longer running things like notified pro, lockinfo etc. However, I do really really really miss SBSettings as it was so good being able to turn things on/off with one or two touches of the screen.

Make sure your host file isn't pointing to cydia. This is one reason it will fail.
