** The iOS10 thread **

I pay 79p a month, can't remember what that gave me when I signed up, I think 20GB but it's more now.

I wouldn't bother setting up as a new phone.

Thanks for making me look at the setting, I had 6.5GB taken up from the iPhone that I lost in May so that's freed up.

I dont see the point in having iCloud photo library, my photo stream or iCloud photo sharing on.

Huge advantage: it can dynamically and automatically free up space on your phone. Every photo is in the cloud, and you can browse them all, and it will download any pic on the fly (thumbnails stored locally). Works incredibly well. If you have a Mac, or an iPad, it will sync the photos seamlessly across all devices, also very handy.

Clever *******s at Apple. So I now have to press the home button twice to unlock the phone (iPhone 5). Meaning it's going to wear out quicker, meaning I'll have to buy another one sooner. *******s.

How un-Apple.

**There isn't a setting for the 5, no touchID. My statement stands.

Was this a serious post?

Yes but then its stored on public cloud space which costs money and also technically you no longer own / can be accessed if need be

I really don't like the lockscreen alteration and genuinely don't understand why it was changed.

We've gone from lightening fast unlock, by literally taping your finger on the home button to at least a two second delay when you disable the new unlock feature. Even my iPad unlock is junk now on iOS10, we never had a lock code so you flip over the cover and use it but now you have to bloody slide. The iPad is the worst as there's no disable option whatsoever.

I don't understand how people are saying it's slow to unlock with iOS10.
Apologies in advance for the portrait video, I don't normally do videos in portrait but it was the best way to do this.

Does it get any quicker than this?

£0.79 per month, for a £600+ phone -- not exactly breaking the bank, is it? Also, it is 2016, *EVERYTHING* is in the cloud these days. And you actually *do* own your pics. If you have an easy to guess password, or you haven't enabled 2-factor authentication, then yes, your iCloud account could get hacked. Unless you are a celebrity, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah, I don't get this either. The new lock screen is fantastic. It took me a while to get used to it, but I love it. Prior to iOS 10 I would never get any notifications because the lock screen would just flash by. Now I have raise to wake, which is fantastic, so I just give it a quick glance, and unlock if there's anything I need to look at.

Wish my IPhone 5 was this quick then it wouldn't be a issue, most of the time it doesn't seem to realize I've pressed the home button a second time and end up having to press it again so stays locked

Those apps that allow log in through Facebook, such as Spotify, is there a way to get them to open the Facebook app itself rather than Safari? I don't use Safari as it's a big pile of ****, so I have to log in every time I want to authenticate a login. Why can't it simply open in the app?

I have no idea what email I'm trying to read, respond to, which one is my reply. It's doing bizarre things with quoted emails. You'd expect the most recent message to be at the top, well, it ain't. The oldest is at the top and the bottom. ****ing Apple.
