*** The iPad Air thread ***

I got forced to use one of these cases as mine is a works iPad, I was initially disappointed but when I actually tried it out it was fine. I took it off at home and actually found it was very annoying to try and hold on to. This case has big bulky areas to grip on to and although it's heavy it's great for using on the move, it's obviously not for everyone though

Jesus! I was just cleaning my iPad. Wiping over with a damp cloth. I literally put a very small amount of pressure on the bezel to remove a mark and heard a sickening noise. I have been left with this....

It still works fine, so is probably just the outer screen. Any idea on how much to fix. I would argue I should get a replacement, but I have heard Apple are notoriously picky when it comes to replacing screens.

Surely just wiping the bezel shouldn't cause this? You can tell it's not an impact as it is dead clean right along the crack. No impact spider marks at all.

Over a month, but I finally had some great help from an Apple technical support person and today after a trip to the Apple store, I have a perfect refurb ipad at no cost at all. Very happy.

I am loving my Ipad! I have been reading loads of stuff on Comixology. I even downloaded the GTA games I had on my Iphone onto it and have been playing those. GTA Vice City is awesome on the Ipad! :D

Is it worth waiting until September to see if/what the air 2 offers rather than purchase an air now? Apple is so annoying with bringing hardware updates out like hot cakes.

This close, I would wait even if it's just for the reduced cost on the existing air.

I assume apple will only do their normal though of a slight speed increase and keep the design the same. Touch ID is almost a certainty as well.

Is it worth waiting for the touch Id thing? Same with the ram, is the air struggling with day to day use? I'm pretty tempted to get an air, especially since the 12 months 0% finance is back till the 8th of September. Currently have a first gen nexus 7. So anything will be a massive upgrade.

Just can't see me finding much use out of the ID thing and I really can't see ram being an issue.

The only thing my Air struggles with is having more than a few tabs open at once is Safari or Chrome. When you switch tabs it refreshes the page. Can get annoying.

Really? Pretty sure my crappy nexus can have about 10 open before it starts getting slow. Even then, it won't refresh when I change tabs.

Picked up a 32gb one from my trip to America recently, with the good exchange rate it was rude not too :) Impressed with it, haven't had an iPad before but have had an iPhone for many years.

iPad only has 1GB ram, and apple is very aggressive with ram, I struggle to have 5 tabs open without them refreshing constantly.

I got rid of mine due to that. I could have a maximum of 3 tabs open with little/nothing else in the background. Annoyed the hell out of me.
If I was flipping between apps and then Safari tabs, then it would refresh the tab with only two open.

I now use a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, which is better for Internet browsing - I have yet to see it do the Safari refresh thing, even with loads of tabs open, but then it has 3GB RAM I think.
Problem is has other annoyances that the iPad Air didn't have. Seems to me there is no 'perfect' tablet out there yet.

If Apple stick another GB of RAM in the Air 2 then I will bite again.

If Apple doesn't go 2GB ram in the Air 2 it literally a finger too its users, and the iPad sales are already dropping YoY so they can't afford to just coast with it.
