The last game you completed, and rating (Console Edition)

It Takes Two, previously I had only played a couple of levels but just played through the whole game with my lad. Such a fantastic co-op game, the creatively is off the scale and it's easy enough that you can play through without getting frustrated but at the same time not feel bored. Now keen to try the follow-up "Split Fiction".

Didn't even know there was a follow-up, I played through 'It Takes Two' with my dad after he had his stroke (he never was the best at PC gaming, but this was just about perfect for him. I'll have to get the second one and we can play that one together as well. Many thanks for the heads up.

It's ever so slightly more challenging than It Takes Two but I found the story and levels in Split Fiction almost more enjoyable (and It Takes Two was still a fantastic game).

GRIS on PSN Extra. Interesting slow paced metrodvania puzzle game with no deaths just really cool hand-drawnesque graphics. Only takes around 4/5 hours to complete and haven't a clue what it all meant.

7 / 10.

On to Rain World, which also an interesting metrodvania style game but is apparently quite brutal.

Rain world is very cool and yes very difficult. I never reached the end but I enjoyed my time with it.
Aye, I suspect I will not last long as I had a brief play last night and the controls seemed finicky with crouch long jumps and I really did not have a clue what to do and was eventually clowned by the rain. I did manage to get to day 2 or cycle 2 or whatever it was after I found a new area on my first play. I do like the atmospherics, graphics and odd creatures.

e: yeah Rain World is not for me. Looks interesting but after spending an hour getting nowhere yesterday and having watched a bit of a walkthrough this morning; this is pure frustration over fun. Hats off to anyone who has the time and patience for this one!

Split Fiction. Excellent game and builds on the success of It Takes Two. Hands down the best local coop game I've played.

Theres action, story and character development, humour, fun and innovation.

It's a highly polished game and looks and plays brilliantly on the PS5 Pro. As someone who has platinumed Elden Ring and Returnal, it is also properly challenging in parts too!

9/10.

Elden Ring (again!). 10/10.

I've already platted this but played through on a brand new character. Managed to compete all the side character questlines and finished off Radagon/Elden Beast today. EB is sooooo frustrating as a melee build lol. Had a choice of 3 rune endings + Ranni...... Such an awesome game.

Got through the entire game with a very early game twinblade with bleed ash of war and upgraded it as I went.

Now to move onto SotE again...... :)

Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy 9/10

Enjoyed replaying these on my PS5 Pro ... previously played them on PC years ago. Great series that still puts many modern games to shame. Graphics look great, even today, and the overall presentation / cinematic experience can be breathtaking at times. On that note : Cory Barlog, of God of War reknown, was one of the main creative inputs at Crystal Dynamics when the TR reboot was greenlighted. His influence / style is evident throughout. Also noteworthy : I wasn't aware that Terry Pratchett's daughter, Rhianna, was the lead writer for the TR series.

ER is almost perfect. I’d say 98/100 perfect. I want to play it through again, and I guess I should seeing as new game plus is awaiting me at the round table..
I started playing expedition 33 today. One of the prologue characters is voiced by Jennifer English of Baldur's Gate 3 Shadowheart fame. Very recognisable voice.

I was interested to learn she also voiced Latenna in Elden Ring, which completely passed me by. Didn't pick it up, even after multiple play throughs!

Her voice work is incredible. One of my favorites. I didn’t know about Latenna though ! What a resumé!

Dragon Age: The Veilguard - 6.5/10

It was free last month so decided to give it a go. I enjoyed it for what it was although I wouldn't really call it a Dragon Age game. I turned my brain off for the DEI speech nonsense and thankfully there wasn't too much of it.

Metro Awakening on PSVR2 - 7/10. Took me 12 hours to finish the game and I was scared for around 11 hours and 58 minutes, definitely a play once game, scared poop out of me :D

Thought it was going to be a normal FPS but I soon had spiders on my head and hands, hairless dogs and grizzly bears attacking me, ghosts and voodoo tribal warriors to deal with.

Borderlands 3. Didn't really pay attention to the story, but the shooting of everything that moved with hundreds of different weapons was fun. I did a fair amount of side missions but once completing the main story I've had enough so moving onto something else.

Space Marine 2. 6/10
Had since launch, didn’t quite click with me but gave it another go. It’s alright, the big battles are great as are the jump pack bits and the support vehicles. There just wasn’t enough of them. Last mission / boss fight dragged on way too long and tbh not entirely sure what happened. Some of the go here press this was a bit tedious and found myself getting to points or areas before the game was ready for me so not able to go where I should until the dialogue or whatever caught up. It’s not exactly a fast paced game either. Graphically was brilliant, would be easy to say it’s a gears of war rip without the cover mechanics but I dug out my original 40k book and it’s dated 1987 so overrules gears by some time.

Ran a couple of the online coop mission and will spend a bit of time on them, even though I’m running round in default noob blue armour while everyone else looks super cool.

Split Fiction
10/10

Really enjoyed playing through this with the wife.
There’s not many couch co-op games as it is, and even less she will play, but this was amazing.
The story, design, challenges were incredible.

Stellar Blade - 8/10

Good combat and setting and looks fantastic on PS5 Pro. Let down by awful voice acting and the develoers pervy obsession with main character.

Hope it gets a sequel.
