Galak-Z - 9/10

Fantastic retro 16-bit style space shooter with a few RPG and rogue-like elements to keep it modern. The graphics and sense of humour are spot on. As is the gameplay.

Would recommend it especially as it's only £4 on ps4. It was a free game on PS plus at one point so you may already have it. Also available on Steam so add it to your list and grab it when it's on sale.
It's a fantastic game.

It's on the current bundle on Fanatical.

Among The Sleep - indie horror game where the you play as 2 year old! This provides a unique and quite crazy experience as you proceed to encounter a nightmarish world from a child's perspective. I felt really immersed in this little gem with some genuinely terrifying moments complete with chills down the spine. A clever little game with a great ending. Only 2 hours long according to Steam although it felt longer than that. Perhaps not the best value at the full price of £13 but I picked it up for less than half that in a sale. 8/10

Pillars of Eternity. So endeth my first full adventure with a true/proper/old school (whatever you want to call it) RPG game. I'd never got on with strategic turn-based combat and party management before and whilst I played the game on easy, it was necessary to learn the mechanics and I really enjoyed every one of the 85 hours I spent with the game. I wasn't that gripped by the story if I'm honest and found my self scanning the text at times, never the less it was a great adventure. 8/10. Now that I gave got to grips with this type of combat, I look forward to playing other games in the genre that I previously completely over looked. My first point of call will be to go back to Dragon Age Origins which I tried a couple of years back but gave up as I didn't know what I was doing in combat...

Brothers: A tale of two sons. Haven't really played a game like it before so for me it was a really enjoyable experience. The game itself isn't difficult at any point but it's all about the story which I thought was really interesting and quite brutal at times. Overall 8/10.

Vanquish. Loved the setting and the cinematics. The gameplay itself was fun if not a little bit repetitive in terms of the battle areas although the boss battles were cool with the typical Asian formula of the bosses having weak points to shoot a la the later Resident Evil games which I always enjoy. I think I made the mistake of having gaps in between playing the game - it didn't suck me so much as that I felt the pull to go back and play it, usually just playing an hour at a time a couple of times a week. Perhaps I'm getting a little tired of cover shooter gameplay. Anyway because of the gaps, I didn't follow the storyline that well however really enjoyed the last 6 acts I played in row just now to complete it. What they did with the end credits was a nice touch too. A 'cool' game I think is the best way to describe it. 7/10

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition - easily 10/10.

I actually blindly bought the Limited Editon physical copy of the game, I'd only ever really heard that people said the game was good. I didn't realise I would absolutely love the game.

The story, artwork, music, atmosphere. This game just ticks so many boxes and has been put together beautifully. Some tricky puzzles to get your head around but once you get the hang of it, it's just putting the run together. Highly recommended to play with a controller if you have one.

Dying Light - Although it was really hard before you get decent weapons, i really liked this game. Going back to do some more side quests and start The Following - 9/10

Kingdom Come: Deliverance. 8.5/10. Really enjoyed the game and the immersion! A few bugs but not gaming breaking for me.

I feel lost now that I've completed it.

Grim Dawn + Ashes of Malmouth - 8.5/10

Really enjoyed this one, I've lost the will to play any more Path of Exile & Diablo 3 over the last year, I've really burnt myself out playing them none stop during the different seasons.

Whilst not having anyway near the longevity of the others, Grim Dawn had a very nice combat/skill system (basically a much more expanded Titan Quest), enjoyable classes and a good learning curve complemented with steady progression.

The minor points down come from the inevitable map grind coming a little sooner in this one, however the Crucible mode (Arena mode with waves of enemies + rewards) is a good enough distraction to keep you occupied with your fully geared characters for a little while. Another negative was the mix of voice & text coming from the NPCs, I actually enjoyed the story and really like the atmosphere (feels very Diablo 2). It was a little disengaging at times with there being some short dialogue followed by walls of text every now and then, especially when new important characters are being introduced or big plot points have occurred.

Overall though I was very impressed, well worth a go if you like those kind of games.

Dying Light - Although it was really hard before you get decent weapons, i really liked this game. Going back to do some more side quests and start The Following - 9/10

Not to mention that the devs really do care about the game, especially with the free content they released last year.

Finished main quest at around 53 hours. I still have a few side quests and activities left to do if I want to boot it back up.

At the end of the game are you free to roam around then? Maybe put your answer in a spoiler just incase anyone doesn't want to know :p
