The last game you completed, and rating.

God of War, although only about 18 hours in and whilst I've done the main story I've obviously not done much side content. I'd give it around 8.5 on my scale which means nothing to anyone but hey ho :P

Xuan Yuan Sword, I love Wuxia RPG games from growing up playing them but this one despite the positive ratings on Steam really didn't do it for me. The graphics have improved drastically, added voice acting (can be slow and annoying tbh, thank you for the skip button its like they knew!) Combat like a lot of rpg has changed from turn based to hack n slash which was alright, mobs gave no challenge but bosses were much better. Story, from what I didn't skip seemed ok. Side content, I dig the unique chess game but most of the substories involve backtracking. There was one you are asked to talk to 3 people around town then do it another 3 times which totally annoyed me.

Overall rating 4/10

Mass Effect 1 - Legendary edition
9/10

Got to the final area a while back but never finished it, just completed the game on insanity difficulty (going for all 3 on insanity). Has the game kept up with modern times? No, hell no, the planet exploration and side missions are VERY repetitive, combat is a little dates but the story building is still miles ahead of most triple A games these days.

Onto the best of the series! Number 2!!

Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

7/10. Typical AC game so you know what to expect, but what really did it for me was the way they created an authentic feeling Victorian London setting with so many little details which really immerses you in the world. Gameplay wise it's fairly repetitive and the combat is a bit janky and awkward imo but looks and plays beautifully these days with good hardware - especially with DLDSR.

Oooh you're going to get a lot of raised eyebrows calling 3 the best of the series :p
I myself side with the majority and like 2 the most but I do have a lot of appreciation for sections of 3! It also feels like the sentiment towards the ending has improved a lot since it came out, I guess because people have gone in with rock bottom expectations and they're getting the extended ending straight away. But yeah great trilogy overall

Remnant From The Ashes and DLC

7.5 / 10 Burned through this game in about 10 hours. Pretty much same old formula in the different zones. Might replay it again using different class / weapons

Did you play it by yourself? If so then that’s such a shame as it is superb in 3 player coop.

Blasphemous - 7/10... Elements are 8-9 out of 10 like the progression, general atmosphere and not-easy-but-not-punishing combat. But like many Souls-like games it's got lots of lore and not a lot of explanation. Very opaque at times in terms of what to do or why things are connected.

And the scripting/general writing was quite annoying as it tries so hard to use religious theming and vocabulary, it often obscures what the actual content means. All hidden behind fancy words and ominous names. Shame as the world that was created with its bleakness and dark/horrific elements was really cool.

Well worth a play through if the premise appeals to you, but only as good as other games in its genre like Death's Gambit or Ori.
