Dishonored 9/10

And I don't give 10/10, as far as I['m concerned there is no such game as 10/10. Not perfect, but Dishonored does so many little things right - that even all the big budget games make a mess of, that it picks up bonus points. Well worth a replay too.

Resident Evil 5 7/10

You could tell it was a port, but it was much better than some of the others you get.

+ It was very good fun with a friend playing on Co-Op
+ It had a reasonably good storyline and some good fights
+ Graphics and Cut Scenes were very good as well as having a decent feel to the game.

- It was very clunky in terms of controls and shooting/moving but then i should have remembered having it on the 360 when it first came out
- It had a few annoying bugs
- QTE's i absolutely hate them
Overall it was a pretty good game considering i picked it up for around £3.50 in the Xmas sales.

Hitman: Absolution

7/10

As a new player to the series I for the most part enjoyed the game.

Pros:
Graphics were superb.
Performance extremely smooth even in complex scenes.
Controls were fluid and intuitive (installed blood money to compare)
Voice acting and characters were good.

Cons:
Lack of options. Despite there being several options, there is only really ever one or at most two options that aren't just retarded.

The score system for me removed a lot of enjoyment. I'm constantly see it add or remove points based on my action and it meant I was planning for score rather than enjoyment (If you just straight up ignore it, the game is more fun)

47 talks too much. Not such a cold silent emotionless bringer of doom. :(

Suit is shabby 90% of the game!

So, gets a 7/10. I enjoyed playing it but I wouldn't play it again and I found it somewhat restrictive and linear. However the engine, graphics and fluidity of movement, combat and actions was very good. If they just opened up the gameplay this could have been a top game.

Deadspace 2

8/10

Loved the first one and have been slowly playing it off and on the last few days when time allows.

Pros:
Graphics, Effects and the Lighting in this game I think are some of the best.
Performance was excellent at 1980 X resolution playing it on a 50 inch TV.
The game feels extremely polished and the story isn't too shabby.
8 Hours of Gameplay
Lack of a UI allows for nice immersion.

Cons:
Sometimes a bit repetitive and frustrating.
Very tough on the harder settings, which adds to the frustration :P

I bought this when it was on sale on Steam a while back. I played it using the Xbox controller as I like to play games that don't requite much accuracy on a controller. Vibration adds to the atmosphere.

I'd recommend it to people who have played the first game, as well as recommend the series to newcomers.

Thomas Was Alone

9.5/10

+ Music
+ Narration
+ The fact that it managed to make you care about rectangles
+ Gameplay

Can't really think of anything bad about it....

Quite an amazing little game, the platforming was good and some of the levels had me a bit confused. The storytelling is fantastic though and it really does manage to make you actually care about rectangles which is rather strange.

I suggest you all buy it, it doesn't cost much.

Doom 3 BFG Edition including expansions.

8.5/10.

Fantastic game play, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lost a point because I opened up console out of curiousity only and didn't use any commands, only to be told at the closing credits for vanilla D3 that I won't be getting achievements simply for opening the console, this is not made apparent at all before opening it.

Farcry 3

8.5/10

Completed last night. I really liked driving around the lovely island during the day - the hula song and the great scenery. Loved sneaking around the pirate encampments and taking them over.

What i didnt like:
- those wierd hallucination levels
- those dark levels where youve got to kill big monster things
- the night time part of the day
- the fact you cant kill the yellow heavies with a sniper to the back of the head

I really loved the game during the day as it looked fantastic so why they put in those ugly dark levels i dont understand. I was also looking for a way to make the game day only (so no night time) but didnt find one. At night you get attacked by animals, killed, and the game looses all of its graphical magnificence.

Overall i thought it was great, HOWEVER, the game didnt really challenge me enough. I chose normal difficulty and i expected that the difficulty level would increase as you went through the game (as usual) but it didnt get that much harder. Normally at the end of a game i find that i keep dying on the last missions but with this game it almost felt like the final missions were too easy.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat + 2.1 SGM mod.

+ most impressive free play (after the main quest was completed) available that I've seen in a Stalker mod
+ variety of loot
+ certainly one of the very best Stalker mods for adding other areas to the vanilla COP game (the only other that betters this would be 'People Soup' imo)
+ graphically very good - though that is with 'Absolute Nature' installed
+ as Stalker goes, it was remarkably stable; very little crashing and almost no stuttering
+ plenty of extra missions are available

- everything is in abundance, which is great, though at times it was a little too easy. Play it on master difficulty to get the most out of it
- not very easy to install, though not difficult by any stretch at all
- a few stashes and missions were glitched, but in the grand scale of things it was very, very few

Overall, I would grade the mod 8.5 / 10. Highly recommended.

If you like Stalker, then this should be high on your list of mods to play. :)

Fallout 3

95/100

One of my favourite games of all time. Only thing I would have really wanted to change is a longer more involved main mission

Completed by accident.. Not fully completed.

Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim

9/10

+ Graphics
+ Storyline
+ Gameplay in general
+ Voice cast

- The pathways (where is the damn pathway to get upto the top of that mountain! aarrgghh)
-Leveling system, I would liked to have seen a slightly better system on leveling tbh more Fallout inspired
- in game bugs (for instance going into Solitudes Blue Palace and everyone is running around trying to kill 2 young children, granted, quite funny, but damn near impossible to talk to anyone with regards to a mission lol)

Mark of the Ninja - 9.5/10

+Great style and graphics
+Smooth and satisfying gameplay (perfect with the xbox pad)
+Very fun, as soon as i completed it once i wanted to go back and try a different style of play on NG+
+Extra challenges and things to collect
+Stealth mechanics implented very well with sound bubbles and light.
+Great basis for a sequel with the perfect style and gameplay already in place, its just to flesh things out with more variety of weapons and moves for example.

-Would like to have had more variety in executions
-Story was pretty good but nothing to write home about

Amazing game overall. Nothing really wrong with it apart from small additions that could have been added to make it even better. Really enjoying a lot of these indie games coming out, even more than the big budget releases.

Bring on Mark of the Ninja 2, and if you havnt played this one yet, go and buy it :)

Deadlight 8/10 very enjoy able game about 5 hours play for the £4.99 i picked it up for.

Splinter cell Conviction 8/10 i enjoyed this game was fun liked the sneaking about aspect of it, some of it did remind me of the batman games in regards to the take downs etc...

The Darkness 2 (8/10).

+ lovely use of rich colours
+ well presented story
+ a worthy effort, especially when I think of how much I liked the first release, so it lived up to my expectations well
+ short - some might consider this as a negative, though for me, it was a good thing (if anything, it could have been a little shorter)
+ solid voice acting (apart from the gremlin)
+ amusing side kick that adds a nice flavour to the game
+ action packed game with quite a lot of variety to the combat
+ mindless fun
+ I pretty much liked most of the visuals, thanks to the cell shading (or whatever it was), though there were a few poor results

- although there's some replay value due to essence 'spending', there isn't enough there for me
- wasn't that keen on the gremlin's voice (wrong accent imo)
- linear - which didn't bother me, though perhaps one or two areas with a little more to them would have been a good idea
- one or two very poor, flat textures / visuals

Always watch after the credits, in any game. ;)

One other thing I noticed, is that this game worked my gpu really hard - must have been the cell shading technology. Temps reached around 90C when running 70% fan speed. :D
