The last game you completed, and rating.

Baldurs gate 3, 10/10. Late to the party but this could be the best game I've ever played. Act 3 feels unfinished and rushed and is frankly a huge disappointment, if it had been the quality of act 1 this would be the best game ever by miles.

Disco Elysium The Final Cut - 9/10

Finished this over the weekend, and it's easily one of the best games I've ever played. Was really in to the story and characters. The writing is fantastic, and I found I didn't mind the large amount of reading.
I had to knock a point off, as the skill check system just seemed like utter nonsense. I accepted all the failed skill checks in the first half, but near the end I was quick-saving beforehand and just re-loading when it was high percentage chance fail. I found that it didn't really seem to matter if it was high-80's/early 90's, or mid 40's. Seemed like the same amount of chance, if not more luck on the lower percentage chances... Seemed like a waste to be leveling-up skills, when it didn't seem to have much bearing on the skill check being passed.

Glad you enjoyed it :) There definitely were some memorable characters - Kim Kitsuragi is ace.

I am going to re-play it as a a total scumbag piece of crap in about six months and see how it goes. :)

Finally gotten around to completing Jedi Survivor and giving it a solid 7/10!

The game finally runs smoothly for me, but this should have been the case at or around launch. Not months later, when I'd all but forgotten about it. Still got some annoying random crashes so saving regularly is a must but, the story line was in my opinion really good.

What really cheesed me off was Darth Vader making another appearance and getting absolutely battered by Cere. Don't get me wrong I love the character, but the more they use him in shows and games etc and repeatedly have him almost beaten, the more they neuter him as a threat. What the first game got right was having you start to feel like a competent young Jedi, only to have Vader show up and the only thing you can do is run! It really gives you a sense of just how powerful he really was.

Where they reintroduce him here would have been the perfect opportunity to bring in either a new really cool character, or revive a character from Legends like Star Killer (my personal choice) or Mara Jade rather than something like another inquisitor. Personally I would have lost my **** in a good way!

Assuming they do another sequel, and they'd have to be bloody crazy not to, I for one am very much looking forward to it.

Starfield
A few good missions
Some good sound effects
Gun play was amusing
Visuals sometimes nice

Game is a janky mess, wouldn't recommend buying unless it turns it around like No Man's Sky. I 100% this on Steam with about 350 hours in it regardless but that was purely as I'd 100% Skyrim years ago and wanted to do it again. Painful at times to play. 2/10

You played a game you rank at 2/10 for 350 hours? Why?

"Back in the day", some games that I enjoyed completing were:
  • Syndicate (1993). Youtube search here.
  • Syndicate: Americal Revolt (1993). This was a much more challenging set of Syndicate missions. Youtube search here. A very well-planned and executed approach was required to complete most missions.
  • Syndicate Wars (1996). Youtube search here. Honourable mention for Satellite Rain weapon here and the mini-nuke hand-grenade ("Cataclysm") here.
Ah, those were the days.

Fantastic games.
I just watched the first video, holy cow what a wave of nostalgia! So many parts i'd forgotten. Something very satisfying watching that world map slowly change colour. I remember the last mission having a fully decked out team with miniguns then getting all the enemies in a bottleneck.

AC Unity 6/10
I picked this up as I wanted to play a story-driven game again. But somehow I did not find myself as attached to the protagonist as I have with other AC games. The story was mediocre and also seemed disjointed outside the animus with very little information around it. I am not sure they concluded it once the credits rolled after the last campaign mission. Coming from Oddysey and Origins, I obviously found the movements too clunky and the cover, drop and climb mechanisms were frustrating at times. Arno would not snap to cover or even take cover at times.
The combat mechanics did not seem to work that well either. The actions it suggested to use mid-combat to also use pistol etc did not work correctly even with the relevant skills unlocked. The "hide in the simulation" for the sweep part also felt like an unnecessary addition and the 3 times it happened were annoying. The game map is far too filled with little things to do to the point that those legends overshadow the layout of the map (I know it can be filtered but theres far too much on the map).
Also felt the supporting characters were not coherent to the story and were seemingly there just for the sake of it (with no real introductions). The story did not have the depth I expected based on previous games (maybe I was expecting too much).

Also did not understand the change in direction in stories between the main plot where Napolean helps Arno somewhat and then in Dead Kings DLC seems like he is trying to find artifacts as a templar. There was no direct confrontation with him but it seemed weird that the character dynamic had changed between the two parts. Confused me a bit there. Felt like the character was only thrown in for the sake of it.
And in the main story both sides are busy purging their houses(wtf). Again at the end after the final mission with Elise, is Arno in the creed or not (since he got kicked out). No further closure there but he continues using the kit and in dead kings seems like he gets another artifact. To what effect, if he is not in the brotherhood anymore?

Final fantasy 7: Crisis Core Reunion 8/10
Second game I have played start to finish on the Steam Deck and super stoked for Rebirth next month. Really interesting to play out the back story of Zack, Cloud and Sepherioth…

Brotato - 10/10

Horde management like Vampire Survivors but even better! I really hope the developers are going to support the game with some kind of DLC, i.e. extra characters and weaponry. Got all the Steam achievements but there are still things to do like getting every character completion on danger 5 run (I've only done it once in 100 hours!)

Got this and a few other similar ones to play on my Steam Deck. Looking forward to it when I get the time.

I recommend Death Must Die. I played that over the holidays and it was a lot of fun even though it is early access.

Prodeus - 9/10. Doom clone retro shooter made using modern techniques in a classic style. Fast and frantic gameplay and uber satisfying weapons. Secrets in all levels to find like games of old and specific time trial levels along with the main story. Paid £1.60 in the sale but would have happily paid £20 for nearly 10 hours of fun.

Had a go of this on my Steam Deck also. Seems fun.

Disco Elysium 8.5/10

Had been meaning to play this for a long time, didn't think it would be my thing but ended up really enjoying it. HARDCORE!!!! :)

I have this and want to start it some day. But too many on my list to play before I get to it.
