tomb raider (2013)

9.5/10

fantastic game, really gritty gameplay, got me really involved with it, sucked me into the storyline - i normally skip all cutscenes and ignore all sidequests but this was really fun and exciting

a game that i didnt think id like but turned out to be absolutely fantastic

Tomb Raider 9.5/10

Just EPIC!, story line totally sucked me in, couldn't put it down until I finished, a real showcase if played in 3D as well, just stunning.

Crysis 3 8/10

Loads better than 2, if a little short, though the visuals really make up for that, best looking game ever.

Metro 2033.

+ Graphics
+ Sound
+ Environment Design
+ **** your pants factor
+ Interesting weapon's
+ Value for money (was free!)

- Boring story
- Lame AI
- Wooden animations

If you can pick it up for cheaps or free its worth a play through. Its also got me mildly interested in the next Metro game.

7/10

I think the story was a lot more interesting that what you would see anywhere else. The Librarian part of the game was the scariest for me :D I wonder what 4A Games can do to top it.

Crysis 3 6/10

It's much better than 2 but still fairly meh. It was at least enjoyable whilst it lasted and it does make you feel like an unstoppable super solider.

Farcry 3 8/10

It's utterly retarded and very fun.

Hitman Absolution 2/10

I got as far as about the 5th mission and really wasn't enjoying it. It just didn't feel like a Hitman game.

Sniper Elite V2 6.5/10. I enjoyed the core gameplay a little, but the clumsy controls and random spawning enemies (especially towards the end) really detracted from the game. Graphics were decent enough and the bullet cam is decent.

I completed Bastion last night. What an amazing game! The whole story telling element was fantastic as well as the gameplay. Currently on new game+ getting all the achievements and having a bit of trouble with the dream sequences but its fun nonetheless.

9/10.

Would love a Bastion 2.

Tomb raider 8/10

Looks great, plays well but there's far to many quicktime events and just pushing forward/up with no real interactivity. Despite that it's still enjoyable.

Thomas was alone 7/10

Short and sweet. I can see why it won a Bafta.

Tomb Raider 8/10

Surprisingly good game with great graphics. The QTE's annoyed me a little and there needed to be more tombs to actually raid though.

Edit: And it was maybe a little too short and easy.

Far cry 3

Enjoyed it quite a lot, I liked the island thought it looked gorgeous and was so vast was quite nice to just driving around/exploring it. It played pretty nicely as well and combat was decent enough but there are some aspects I really just didn't see the need.

1) The loot, this game had so many chests/loot boxes yet nothing worth while other than stuff to sell. I mean these things are literally plastered every where.
2) The crafting made the loot frustrating, I understand pack sizes but wallet size as well? It forces your hand to do it as otherwise you end up with a back pack full of stuff you can't sell due to not having big enough wallet!

I liked the syringes though as some of them provided handy boosts that made collecting the plants worth while. Some of the missions were really enjoyable where as I felt maybe some of the side missions were a little to easy (path of the hunter things).
Selection of weapons was adequate as well plenty in there but like most shooters I tend to stick to a load out and don't change it to often but certainly something in there for everyone.

Was fun to set a caged animal free at a camp and watch it reek havoc whilst you sat back viewed from a distance.

Would give it a 6-7/10.

Crysis 3 - 6.5/10

It had so much potential. Actually preffered the story to Crysis 2.

The most exciting part of the game is the brief cut-scene on completion.

Far Cry 3 ate its lunch.
