The Last of Us (HBO, from Creator of Chernobyl) - No game spoilers please

Well, that sudden horde of infected was a tad on the 'oh ****, we're ******* dead' side.

You can definitely tell that there's been a significant amount of money pumped into this show.

That episode was insane and incredible.

There are different levels of infected depending on how long you've been infected. That was a bloater I think, almost unstoppable, and I think there is a level above them that's a concoction of multiple infected.
Now I can’t recall in the game if that’s the case. If it was then surely there would be a lot more about as it’s been over 20 years since the outbreak. It would make more sense if a specific cause made them like that. Days Gone did a good explanation of that. The Breakers(huge and strong) were a result of high levels of steroids in their system. Similar with the screamer and the reacher.

What an episode!!

I knew we were in for the big baddie from the series teaser but I damn bear pooped myself when they all came out of the hole so damn fast. Awesome:cool:

Amazing episode. I'm really surprised with how much of the game they got in the episode without it feeling shoehorned in just to tick boxes, but also how well they changed parts to merge it all together and have the pacing not seem rushed, or the scenes being out of place.

I have to say I think I may be glad I havent played the game as every new thing is a welcome surprise to me. Well, I mean the man on man bit was just a surprise but not unwelcome.

Are the new two in the game, and did it go the same way?

Very good episode!

My other half has seen so much of the game passively through me playing it but has somehow never seen this portion.

she shed a tear at the end, she really didn't see that coming at all. And I got the old goosebumps too, knowing what was going to happen. Horrid as it is, I'm glad the kept to the source material with that bit

The closing song from this weeks episode.

Really enjoying this series. I think they've nailed it. I'm in a great position that I remember the atmosphere and set pieces from the game on PS3 a long time ago however the details are vague so it's still hitting me like it's the first time.

I forgot just how traumatic the games where. A truly miserable existence
I'm guessing there is a lot more violence and trauma (good word for it) in the game? Up until this episode I didn't really feel much of the bleakness of the world. But I do now!

Discovered her from the Dark TV series. Wish I hadn't missed a chance to see her live last year. Some amazing work!

Yeah, quite a bit more. Don't get me wrong, they are doing a fantastic job with the TV show and I love it, but they've got to chop a 20~ hour game down to an 9~ hour TV show, so it's only natural that some context and world building will unfortunately get missed out. It's well worth playing the game if you're able to. :)
