The Last of Us (HBO, from Creator of Chernobyl) - No game spoilers please

Very bizarre that she killed the only Dr. I means it's not like you're not gonna need one at some point.
It seems very nonsensical to me. Clearly they're trying to show she's badass. But - she's just came over as unrealistic and unbelievable. Just a mis-cast actor, reading a script.

Saying that, I did enjoy Episode 4.

I think Bella is doing a good job. The dynamic between her and Pedro works really well. She's clearly not 'Ellie' that we know from the game though. She's very much her own character.

Yeah, I don't see her as this "leader" either, I don't think she fits the role and is miscast.

The lack of violence and general brutishness from Joel is a little weird to adjust to given just how thuggish he is in the game.

But I do agree, he's obviously survived somehow. Would be nice to see a darker side of him, he's looking a bit "wet" so far (do people still use that expression? :D )

I've got no game experience to compare to, to me she just seems like an uber-karen on a power trip, wasn't impressed with any of her time on screen.

I think it was her voice/accent which irked me the most.

The worst character so far IMO.

Still liked the episode overall, but more of a mundane/transition episode.

Sounds like something big is coming up from the floor though...

Just came across as a bimbo given a gun. Don't tell me her dumb decision of not taking action with the underground threat is gonna cost lives.

For a television episode, I thought EP3 was spectacular, and I really don't like that kind of 'theme'. Those complaining are the same crowd that cried about the heavy dialogue episodes in GoT no doubt.

Always have a few nit pics though. Bill standing in the open during a firefight. His idiot partner, who though'd it'd be a great idea to distract him during said firefight. Could have been much better executed. And the fact the raiders went home packing and everyone lived happily ever after.

Same with Ep4. Overall, very good. It's just a bit dumb going door to door hunting some travellers you picked a fight with and lost.

It's a big city to do door to door, but what else could they do? They had 2 rogue people who had killed their people.

Agree with the bill comment though, ridiculous him standing in the open with a bolt action. You would think he had sniper spots ready to go.

Aye. In the games him and Tess are almost these legendary figures in the QZ. Respected but ultimately feared. I don't they did a great job of communicating that. Joel is principally unlikeable at the start if the game and that's by design. I do worry that they're not selling that aspect of him hard enough because you need that for the pay off. Who knows though, it's still early days.

I think bill being out in the open was due to him going to the gate or controls near it for some reason (reset traps?) but that traversal was cut from the final edit. Minor issue IMO.

The floor thing is what we saw in the trailers climbing up in front of something burning I think. Remember it's out tomorrow and will be 1hr runtime. I think we're in for some action.

I was disappointed with her as well. Fair enough they didn’t go the stereotypical route but still didn’t like the character..

She didn't seem suited to the role at all imo. Also probably doesn't help that I just see her as Rose from two and a half men :p
