One of the most important parts of the narrative is specific to the interactivity of the game version.....in that when you are faced with the scene in the operating theatre, you no longer have any agency. You cannot choose what to do. The only action available to you is to murder people.Like most game adaptions, whilst the 1st season did a good job as a TV show it can never hope to hold a candle to the game, because in the game YOU are a character, YOU directly take part and influence events etc, whilst as a TV show you're just watching other people "play the game" for you, and that'll never have the same emotional connection as playing it yourself.
In fairness, these game > TV adaptations were never going to satisfy gamers as part of the experience with narrative driven stories is that elements are still uniquely conjured by the player. Having typed that, I thought the best episode of the season was the Bill back-story which was entirely new for the audience.1st season was a massive let down, the 2nd game is trash so wont be watching this one.
I thought that was a great episode. Offerman was excellent. In fairness, these game > TV adaptations were never going to satisfy gamers as part of the experience with narrative driven stories is that elements are still uniquely conjured by the player.
