THE LAST OF US *Spoiler Thread* (Story only discussion)

about the ending.

A vaccine wouldn't necessarily save the world. It might save a few people from turning but the damage seems to already be done... and we don't even know how bad it is in other parts of the world.

The fireflies don't know for sure that killing Ellie for a vaccine would even work. It was a pipe dream. Even if it did work, only the rich would get the vaccine.

Ending stuff also.
Anyone else feel very uncomfortable the last few hours of the game?
When Joel nearly got killed I was so gutted for Ellie, and it just seemed that things were only going to get worse. When they saw the giraffes and everything seemed so happy, I knew bad stuff was going to go down.

What did you guys think of the ending? That also left me feeling not quite right. I love that Ellie and Joel got to be together... but at the cost of a vaccine? I don't know. I almost thought Joel had to give her up, but he didn't.

Makes you wonder what you would do in that situation with a loved one. If I had to give up my family or (long term) girlfriend I don't know what I'd do!

Keep telling yourself that Joel. :P

Why the need for Cannibals ? It was a nice touch but the wildlife seemed to be flourishing what with the giraffes etc.I wanted to see the Cannibals wives and children though for a degree of eerie normality amid a taboo.:D

You could go anywhere you want with it lol. Bloody whole world is infected, Ellie is 14 currently and can't be infected, Has started to build up a decent survival skill set. They could do anything they wanted story wise.

Just finished it myself:

I thought that overall, it was excellent.

I was expecting a character to die, or something extremely tragic to happen at the end, so that was a bit of a surprise.

Joel dying for example would have been very cliché, I'm sure quite a few of us were expecting that.

I was impressed with the length of it though, seemed to go on for a long time for such a well produced, story driven game, so that was nice.

This^^, to be honest i don't mind going on another journey with Jeol and Ellie especially on PS4.

I agree, I would really like another story with these 2 in. Loved the whole game. I laughed, I cried and I got frustrated with it as well, Still awsome game.

conq'd it earlier on this evening, cracking ending, and I was really impressed with the length of the game.

Don't know about anyone else but I haven't felt that protective over a video game character since Clem in the walking dead.

So basically Joel is a bit of a selfish douche... Hmmmm!

I didn't like the fact that I shot the surgeon in the leg and he died instantly!

Also didnt realise it was the end, so had saved loads of ammo and points to upgrade the assault rifle lol.
