I think the same. I'm just lost with Bioshock plot, I've started playing Bioshock after 3 months break, just to finish of the game, with TLOU I didn't have that problem, a week and I bit the game, I was so hooked on to this game, and the ending left me speechless.
 
Just finished it and it was pretty amazing.

They have left a big gap after the first act, and Joels life during that time is a bit of a mystery, so it would make a good story for a sequel.
 
I barely used the flamethrower too, for me it just seemed a rather unlikely weapon for Joel to just find lying around.

That said, I'm glad they kept the weapons as they were e.g. no assault rifles halfway through the game, grenades etc. Watching The Walking Dead on TV after playing TLoU and seeing them all with their kitted-out M4s, AK47s etc makes you realise how absurd it is.

How did you creep past the runners, clickers AND bloaters in survivor mode? Impossible..

I wasn't playing survivor mode... :confused:

In the tunnel on the default difficulty there are a few Clickers, two Bloaters and some Runners. I stealth killed the Runners with the bow and just snook past the rest. If I was playing on a harder setting I'm sure there are ways to get through there undetected too, just because you can't do something yourself doesn't mean it cannot be done.
 
well i bought this at launch and just finished it. i know im slow but been soo damm busy i could only manage a few hours each week.

I loved the game. masterpiece. This is how Resident evil 3 should have been made

easily a 10/10.

Masterpiece from start to finish. Better story telling then anything Holywood as bought out this year.

Holywood should be ashamed
 
Just completed this - blown away by how intense & emotional it was!

When you've rescued Ellie in the hospital, the screen colour goes all faded, and you have people coming from all sides, running like mad through the hospital, I thought that was going to be it. You'd get cornered and mown down. The end.

That almost would have been a better ending in my opinion. Not the happy ending we would have wanted/hoped for, but with a lot more impact, and give an indication of the brutality and sheer hopelessness of this dark, unforgiving post-apocalyptic world.

One thing that puzzled me about the ending:

Ellie says it was just her and her friend when they were bitten, they decided to just sit tight and die together. Her friend died, she didn't - surely the friend would have turned and then tried to kill Ellie if she was still there, meaning: A) Ellie left her friend after she died, but before she turned (unlikely - doesn't seem in her nature, plus if she thought she was going to die anyway, why would she be bothered?) or B) Ellie killed her friend after she turned - but she seemed extremely shocked the first time she killed a guy in the story (the one trying to drown Joel in the hotel), which would indicate it was the first time she'd killed someone?

It's as you get to the University in a garage on your right. Worth getting off your horse all around this part for some good foraging.

Flamethrower was definitely my weapon of choice vs bloaters! Particularly in the flooded highway section near the end.

unlike the one in the hotel section when you fall down the lift shaft, where I quite literally ended up running screaming like a girl - possibly the scariest section in the game for me :p
