The Last Of Us

It's a shame you didn't order with Amazon :p, whenever they've been late on delivering games upon release (or things in general) they're always very quick to offer you things as way of an apology.

I've had numerous vouchers and have had Amazon Prime free months added.
 
My copy of this was dispatched this morning, Amazon have the expected delivery date down as Tuesday the 18th June but I'm hoping Royal Fail will come through for me. :p

Because they have them in the back and they're usually just generic counter attendants. It goes like this:

Me: "Hi, I'm looking for a Playstation game but it doesn't seem to be on the shelves yet. Do you have it in stock? It's called 'The Last of Us."

Them: "One second I'll check. *rummaging sound* Ahh here it is!"

...in theory.

Having worked in retail, people who sell games (intentionally or accidentally) prior to release date often get a scalding or disciplinary, so just keep that in mind if you're trying to take advantage of the situation!

Then in return they get a major rollocking for doing so, it's not worth it from their point of view.

I've seen several threads where posters get annoyed that the game they've ordered hasn't turned up before the release date and it has always confused me.
 
Oh wow, that is the most immersive and engrossing intro to a game I've ever experienced!
 
Just to give people some information, I just spoke to Tesco on live chat and she told me that all the pre-orders were picked up by royal mail this morning for delivery tomorrow. So lets all hope that royal mail do their jobs and Tesco sent them all next day delivery.
 
Err the game isn't released until tomorrow, so I don't understand this attitude that because you pre ordered from an online retailer that entitles you to get the game pre release.

I think its because some have it early. I don't think there is any harm intended.

If posts read they are mad, well maybe but its not nice to hear others have it when someone who pre ordered doesn't..

But that's the thing; nobody has seemingly received a dispatch email for their Joel Edition from Tesco yet. The concern being that it might not arrive tomorrow at all.

It's the attitude that because you pre ordered something you should get it before the release date that I don't get, if I pre order something and pay for delivery on the release day then that is when I expect it.

Why is it not nice to hear other people have it? I wouldn't have thought it matters as you would have ear marked the release day for playing the game.

That's Tesco's fault? I can't say I've ever ordered anything from their online shop, but I don't see why people are so worked up about them not updating the status.

By all means, get frustrated if it doesn't arrive on the day of release if that is what you paid for, other wise, I don't understand the frustration and annoyance at all.
 
Not to rub more salt in the wound of people that haven't got their preorder yet but my Joel edition came today by courier from Shopto.

Is seems Shopto are pretty good at sending out preorders. I hope others get theirs tomorrow on release day. I know Shopto were maybe a bit more expensive than other places but they have done well here today.

If you haven't had notification yet from your seller that your preorder has been dispatched then I would be surprised if it arrived tomorow.

Believe me, I do feel for you guys, it's never nice preordering and not receiving on or before general release.
