The Liverpool Club Thread. **No Spoilers**

After last night's game where all 3 of the starting forwards got a goal and an assist + Jota came off the bench to get an assist, I thought I'd take a look at just how productive our forwards have been this season:
  • Origi - 8 goals or assists in 533 minutes or a goal or assist every 67 minutes.
  • Minamino - 10 goals or assists in 917 minutes or a goal or assist ever 92 minutes.
  • Firmino - 15 goals or assists in 1665 minutes or a goal or assist every 111 minutes.
  • Mane - 22 goals or assists in 3169 minutes or a goal or assist every 144 minutes.
  • Jota - 26 goals or assists in 2962 minutes or a goal or assist every 114 minutes.
  • Diaz (Liverpool & Porto) - 28 goals or assists in 3303 minutes or a goal or assist every 118 minutes.
  • Salah - 42 goals or assists in 3464 minutes or a goal or assist every 82 minutes.
I'm struggling to think of another time a club had so many forwards producing as consistently as ours have this season. Even if you discount Diaz as he's only been here 5 minutes, we've got 6 forwards that at worst are scoring or assisting once every 1.5 games and most of them are going at a considerably better rate than that.

Wasn't expecting Origi or Mina to have scored/assisted that much. Very impressive. It's amazing that all of them are incredibly sharp and in great shape. We've been so lucky with fitness this season (180 turn compared to last) and I do hope everyone stays fit until the end of the season.

It's across all comps and both Taki & Origi have scored for fun in the cups. I knew the numbers were going to be good but hadn't quite realised just how good. To think that after the Leicester defeat we were hearing the same boring guff about how we don't create enough.

me seeing that Paul Joyce tweet this morning

Premier league hasn’t done Liverpool any favours making them play 3 games in 8 days at the end the season while City get a whole week between their last two games

The consequences of going for a quadruple unfortunately. A bigger issue was the scheduling of the CL semi final ties. We got the Wednesday/Tuesday slot and to make things worse also got picked to play 12.30 on the Saturday in between. I really have no idea what our 11 will be for Newcastle now.

Yeah not sure what's wrong with them. They could have pushed this until after PL/CL are over.

I don't think it's that bad though, traditionally we've done very well when pushed with a busy schedule towards the ends of the season.

Lunchtime Saturday games between two CL knock-off rounds is like Premier League saying they prefer if English teams weren't playing in CL. No other league does this. All because they want higher TV revenues in East Asian markets.

Seems like last season was brutal for Klopp and he may have lost a little bit of desire, that's when he started talking about the end of his career at Liverpool. But this season brought the passion back.

This is much bigger than Salah's contract to be honest. The hardest person to replace at the club is Klopp.

Hopefully Salah and Mane are next. I do think Klopp extending his contract is a big factor for both of them and should make the process easier. Where else would they be competing for four trophies and be contenders for Ballon d'Or?
