Why? Leao is hardly posting better numbers in a much weaker league. Vini is probably the best in the world in that position right now. You haven't come up with a single name yet.

To replace Rashford? You mean like the name I've posted numerous times? Garnacho. You might not agree, but I clearly don't agree with you either. Last season was an anomaly, stop looking in to it so much, look at Rashford's stats over the years... two times, arguably three, he's had what I'd class as a good season, two of those times, have funnily enough come around contract negotiation time, 2019 and last year.

He's hit 30 goals once, in 8 years of being a first team starter. This season I'll be amazed if he even gets to double figures.

Give Garnacho a long run on the left without dropping him for Rashford and I reckon he'll easily out perform Rashford, and already is if you look at assists per 90' and is virtually equal goals per 90'

Garnacho has played the vast majority of this season on the left, starting most games. He's still behind Rashford in his worst season, so no he isn't easily out performing him. His numbers aren't even close to Rashford's average with us, let alone his best. Unless he makes a sudden vast improvement that is not going to be a suitable replacement for Rashford if you want him sold. We'd still need to sign someone else too even if he did make that leap.

Rashford is a berk, without even talking about his performances through the lens of goals and assists, his attitude both on the pitch and off it absolutely stinks. There are times when a players performances can give them leeway for not being up to standard elsewhere, e.g. Sancho at Dortmund was known then not to be the most punctual of the squad but he was performing on the pitch. Rashford isn't performing this season is an understatement, and you can't hang your hat on having purple patches.

I would rather compare Rashford this season to other wide forwards, or even midfielders in other teams. Bowen, Hwang, Bailey, Sterling, Neto, Mitoma, Ayew - to name a few, are wide players who have more G+A than Rashford and they're playing in teams either close to or below Manchester United in the table. I.e. they're playing in comparable to worse teams than us.

Hopefully the INEOS setup is more ruthless with contracts because I personally want Rashford gone.

Personally I would rather have Garnacho on the left every time over Rashford regardless of stats. He works harder, contributes way more (goals and assists aren't everything) and genuinely seems to want to play for the club.

I'm at the point with Rashford that I simply want him gone. I have absolutely zero faith or time left for him. After a cracking season last year he has reverted to form. Lazy, arrogant and can't be bothered unless its on his terms. Doesn't care about the team, doesn't care about the fans.

I simply don't care if he puts the ball in the back of the net. If United want to go anywhere in the next 10 years, players like Rashford need to be a thing of the past. At a well run club he would either have bucked up his ideas or he would have been sold by now. Some players can be unhappy and still perform on the pitch. Rashford is not one of those.

I think that Ineos and Berrada will make relatively short work of the likes of Rashford. United need to be turned into a football business again and I think we will if they do a good job. Top businesses expect professionalism and if you aren't performing you will be moved on. When you create a **** culture like we have had at United for so long, this is the result. Decent players thinking they are world class. His salary packet backs up his delusions as well unfortunately.

If you have a well run machine you don't rely overly on any part of it. Far too many players have known they are invaluable to a misfiring United over the past decade.

100% agreement.
I'm afraid all this stinks of a player (Rashford) who thinks he is bigger than the club and doesn't buy into the coach's tactical plan.

Garnacho has progressed this season albeit in a terrible team,
- he happily/effectively plays left or right without sulking
- his work rate defensively is improving
- he is proving to be physically quite robust
- he is only 20 years old
- he can score a wonder goal like vs Everton
- he excites a lot of the time he gets the ball

Brailsford will hate the notion of a prima donna player not showing the required professionalism so if Marcus thinks he can just wait out the current manager's tenure then he is sadly mistaken. You do have to question the advice these players get - in his case his brother is his agent! Can't think that makes for candid relations when required. ten Hag lacks charisma but thats not an excuse for the behaviour we have seen from too many of them.

Lord Marcus of Rashford has taken responsibility for his bad behaviour and probably won't do it again

For another 3 months

I think before he was benched because he was late. More than likely partying then too.

Fergie got rid of Lee Sharpe for exactly the same reasons. Even though he was a great player for us at the time.

Good job he didnt send a tweet  .

You'd do well to sell Rashford for anything given his salary tbh. Maybe the Saudis will take an interest, would be a big signing for them.

PSG. He's a like-for-like replacement for Mbappe. :D:cry:

I would genuinely love him to go there just for a complete attitude check. He is quite literally the wish.com version of Mbappe. The PSG fans would absolutely tear him to pieces.

I wish he had! :p

And yes, we will struggle to sell him to anyone but silly oil rich clubs.

Seems like he apologised too and owned up to it, I didn't realise that was possible.

There comes a point where apologies don't mean anything when your attitude and behaviour is consistently at odds with what you are saying. Its like when the players under Ole kept apologising to the fans and saying they would do better and nothing changed or happens. Actions speak louder than words.

I hate it when people ‘take responsibility’. Like, what are they actually doing? ‘Oh yeah, okay. I take full responsibility.’ Then carry on doing exactly what they were doing before. It’s all so empty and meaningless.

"I take full responsibility for the thing that was 100% my fault and literally didn't involve anyone else"

Its like when criminals plead guilty to the crime they have been caught red handed committing and then are praised for putting in an early guilty plea. Its not impressive that you admitted to the thing everyone is 100% certain you did!

I am so tired of Rashford now, would be better if we got rid of him.

Yeah, yesterday I was of the opinion he should be benched for a while or put in the reserves for a couple of weeks. Now I just want him gone, he's a bad apple and has gotten too big for his boots. And unfortunately, that's because of us rewarding his sporadic scoring form with ridiculous contracts, and us as a team being so awful that he's been the main man, when in reality, he's not even good enough to start for us this season...
