The Manchester United Club Thread **Sponsored by Comedy Central**

Controversy and polarisation sells more than anything. Its all about engagement. On youtube people intentionally talk crap and make mistakes just to get all the people in the comments coming in and "correcting" them to feel smug. Algorithm sees engagement and voila, your videos do even better.

United had so many years of being at the top table that United have a huge fan base and then a huge base of fans who hate them. Any article on United will get both sides involved and arguing.

Go read any article on the BBC and there will be hundreds of comments complaining about how they don't want to see United articles, how United don't matter. How this is the 10th article today about United and they are sick of it. So sick of it all that they took their time to read it and comment on it...
Now there's a link to an article from earlier this month but has been 'updated' today, it's made it to the front page, not just the sports page:

'The second Special One' - Amorim, by those who know him best

Looking forward to the reports of him riding his bike no handy wheelie-ing, unlike ETH who always kept both hands on safely, grounded and never unleashing the exciting potential. Literally every year...

(Apologies for staining the forum with this rubbish.)

Seems I am not the only questioning Rashfords recent trip.
'It's not right' - Neville questions Casemiro and Rashford's USA trips
https://www.skysports.com/share/13257811

He is done imo. He will never learn.

Becks did it but he knew how to perform so it didn't matter. When you are are in the gutter like Rashford you should be working your hardest to get back up there.

I’m really not Rashford’s biggest fan by any stretch, but is the guy not allowed to go to a game one evening while away training?
I think Nevilles point is relevant.

A player out of form, with a new manager coming in - goes on a trip with his mates to the USA.

He could have gone to Spain, virtually no time difference, no jet lag, no long flight etc.

If he was consistently Utd's best player maybe no problem but his career as a top flight footballer is clearly on the brink and he doesnt seem bothered.

Which is up to him I guess - but in that case dont keep taking the money and walking about the pitch with a face like slapped arse every weekend.

from what I have read, Amorim wont take no **** from players. thats Rashy scuppered then.
Heard some rumours Anthony is a goner too, which isn't a surprise.

ETH began a period of removing some deadwood, hopefully Amorim will complete that process.

Without getting too personal my hitlist would be:

Rashford, Antony, eriksen, casemiro, lindelof, Maguire, shaw

I'm sure there's more but that's who spring to mind

Malacia is perma-sick, get rid

Different club and culture though isn't it?

I'm still not convinced he'll be a success, EPL is a different beast, the club is a different beast.

Hopefully he does though. Special one, after all.

It’s easier said than done, trying to shift players on which are on 300k per week and have 4/5 years left to run on their contracts.

Yep, good thing 3 of the players I listed are end of contract next year.

Not sure on the others but itll be possible one way or the other.

Thoughts on Ruben's press conference today? Thought he seemed confident, but not overly so. Excellent English and seems aware to the scale of the task and that he might not succeed.

Well Anthony makes sense, way too expensive, even Ole said no more than £40m for him and we spent £80m+!
Eriksen and Casemiro are not Utd quality any more and not worth their weekly wages, Casemiro especially. Might as well as Malacia to Shaw and completely rebuild the left back area depending on what formation Ruben decides is best for the squad. Rashford doesn't seem to be up to the standard Utd require each game, Maguire isn't the future of DC at Utd with Licha, De Ligt and Lenny available.

So yeah quite an accurate list I think. Wonder what will happen to Zirkzee. Doesn't seem to be looking too promising. Wonder if he'll return to Italy on loan in January with a view to making a permanent Serie A return?
