I hope Utd will make one or two signings in January, just to show they are continually improving the squad and a demonstration of backing Ruben in the first transfer window. They don't have to be mega signings, perhaps young prospects. Although a 1st XI LB/WBL would be good as Shaw hasn't got the consistency we need and Malacia doesn't seem to be much better either.

I think we have enough young prospects already.

Reports coming out that Ashworth’s been sacked after just 5 months. How much did Utd pay Newcastle and how much will they end up paying Ashworth off? Jim’s going to have to sack a hell of a lot more minimum wage earners to pay for this mistake.

What the hell? Must have been a bust up behind the scenes…

Not a great look for INEOS.

Oh dear.

Bigpig and Woppy were right, who’d have thought!
Ditto. Thinking what on earth has happened. Ineos haven't signed any players yet have they? So it can't be dissatisfaction with any signings. Surely some kind of disagreement over something else?

Who are Bigpig and Woppy? :o

The Newcastle fans on here, they said he was a fraud all along!

erm, your summer transfer business..
I thought they were already being scouted before Ineos. My bad!

So Zirkzee not doing as well as we'd hoped and Yoro being injured? De Ligt and Ugarete have done OK and Mazraou is the real finding. Can't see what amongst those signings mean he's had to go.

As did I.

A broken clock… ;)

Just reading the article, it sounds like Ratcliffe is behind this, he wasn’t happy with Ashworth’s work so far. The decision to keep ETH was the wrong one, and the summer signings have been average at best. In a way it’s good he’s being ruthless and demanding, but a few months isn’t a long time for Ashworth to really do much.

What I said last June.

"Ashworth comes across as a bit of a grifter and club jumper, The bald guy from City is just a dodgy finance guy, Wilcox again has done nothing of note, Brailsford managed a load of people who wear lycra. Going from that to a football club is a massive step up."

Nice are 6th in Ligue 1. The Ineos Grenadier was a total sales flop and terrible car all in. Mercedes F1 finished 4th in the constructors.

People actually have faith Ineos can turn around a sinking Titanic with their track record? Must be more hope than anything.

Honestly, there's always drama with us on and off the pitch. Is 5 months enough time to implement change? Seems more likely there's disagreement on the direction/running of the club needs to take in the future and they've decided to part ways.

Does anyone really know how much involved the football structure INEOS put in place had on the summer transfer window? Role were only being fulfilled during the summer transfer window.

Edit: the Athletic says he was involved with the signings, but wasn't there some quotes from Berrada that suggested otherwise? Appreciate he might be forming some teflon shoulders on that one.

Doesn't that say it all though. If they had no hand in it but knew you were coming in. You would put off spending until they had evaluated everything?
