well if Ibra performs well and he still looks in excellent physical condition, he may well be a top player till 36.

I think thats highly unlikely unfortunately.

Utd will be very lucky indeed if he gets a combined 20 goals /assists from a full season of appearances

I disagree. With Mik and Martial flanking him they'll be a lot more chances created then we have seen in the past 2 seasons. He won't score as many as France but you would expect 15-20.

There was talk of him going to Turkey.

I don't mind United paying £100m for Pogba, but they should tell his agent to do one if he thinks they should pay him £20m for the priviledge

So have we accepted schweinsteiger is out? Not seeing anything about him

I don't think it means anything he's just been on holiday. He's back in training with the squad at Carrington tomorrow along with Zlatan, Schneiderlin, Martial and Fellaini.

Rooney, Schweinsteiger and Zlatan. A year ago i would have laughed if someone told me they'd be playing together.

Its the agent that holds all the power these days - so if Utd (or any club) say no, then they simply have to walk away from any possible deal.

There is no half-way house in this kind of thing.

Schweinsteiger is way past his best even without considering his horrendous injury record in the last few years.

Didnt he also get re-injured in Germany's final game - either way, I just dont see him being any use if Pogba arrives, if Utd can get rid of Fellaini as well that would be exceptional

I haven't seen anything to suggest that he's being sold other than the Besiktas rumour, even if true who would move to Turkey in today's climate?

The only teams willing to sign him now would likely require him to take a massive pay cut.

Even if he was going to sell Mata he wouldn't do that to him. There is just absolutely no point to it and would just make him look like a **** which I assume he would want to avoid so early in his time as our manager. He spoke to Mata as he came off and it looked like they made a concerted effort to explain why he was taken off.

We would be silly to sell Mata with the current options we have for the no10 position as well. Rooney is just complete gash and I hope Mourinho has the balls to drop him. Mata was at his best under Mourinho at Chelsea as well.

Miki and Pogba not good enough for you as the options for No 10 (not to mention Ibra as No 10 and Rashford ahead of him)

Personally dont see why keeping Mata makes any difference at all

We are light on strikers however, if Ibra is at No 10 then we really only have Rashford to go ahead of him.

Have a little wiggle room with the likes of Lingard, and Herrera to come in depending on who moves where ahead of the formation (Depay if you want Martial to go up top, but Depay really needs to buckle down this season and start to show his worth).

Not strengthening the side when we were on top. Leaving the team in a bit of a state when he left. Appointing Moyes as his successor. There have been plenty of bad ones in hindsight but those are the biggest ones.

Fergie made up for a lot of shortcomings in the squad but once he left you really saw how important he was for our success.

Moved this from the transfer thread as my answer isnt really transfer related

Moyes was a (big) mistake, but I still feel it was the right thing to do at the time. IE United HAD to TRY to bring through another homegrown manager. As you said, Fergie hid a lot of deficiencies in the squad he left, he was just biding his time until he walked away (from being manager).

His bigest crime imo was leaving the squad in such a mess. We had a highly experienced 1st XI that really were well past their best in most cases.
