US: The Mandalorian

He's spending too much time with all the side quests and not enough on the main story line for me. Still very watchable, and I'm far from the biggest Star Wars fan.

That episode was just Starwars porn - hope they get on with moving the story on a bit next episode though.
That's how I've felt for pretty much half the series. Going to hurt it when it comes to rewatches in my opinion, you can skip them and miss nothing honestly.

It's also getting frustrating being teased by something interesting then being blueballed for the next 2-3 episodes.

Looked like filler but actually moved the main plot forward a bit (Moff Gideon)

Also anyone else get 80's TV feeling from this ? Like ateam / night rider, turns up in a new town helps good people out + bit of action then moves on to next town
"Littlest Mando" style

I'm starting to feel like the writers are purposely chucking in as much cute yoda as possible and people are going to get tired of it fast.

it's turning it in to a disney starwars crappy movie

Anyone else pick up on this on the previous ep?

The entire storyline so far is about Baby Yoda, are they meant to not just feature him at all? They had 3 small parts with him in this, the wiring, the cookies and the ending fight, not as if the majority of the episode is dedicated to showing him. Personally i think they are using him just enough and not going over the top.

Wonder if the "Darktroopers" are the subjects of experiments to get force powers into soldiers? Seems like it with the way they looked to be in stasis or whatever at the end.

Loved it. As said above was just pure SW porn. Yes it's very shallow and you can really tell they are trying to play it safe and appeal to a mass audience and repair the damage the sequels caused.

It's great walking into stores and see Mando merchandise in random places.

Said this a few posts ago. 100% feels like 80s TV

I still can't work out what the hell they were looking at in the lab....it looked humanoid but I couldn't make out the upper body. It certainly looks like they're trying to fuse Yoda's blood/midichlorians with humans though.

looked like snoke attempts to me, or at least the same process later used for snoke / palps cloned bodies, then add it using byoda blood transfusions to get force sensitivity (usually cloning doesn't work for this)

Gideon is either
Trying to get force himself
Making dark troopers with force?
Making snokes / palpatine body

Anyone notice Predator handshake (Carl weathers directed this episode )

Totally love this, its great just to watch SW weekly. Love little Yoda he's cool and i find it funny. Ultimately they are trying to capture a new audience.

Long may it continue or may it continue long mmmmm

100% but unlike the sequels it's paying tribute to the fandom.

My 4 year-old loves baby Yoda :)

I don't have a problem with the baby Yoda cuteness, I don't think they overdid it in this episode and Star Wars has traditionally had a mix of humour and serious moments. I saw a reviewer say that they think Favreau and co are struggling to set a consistent tone for the show but I don't agree with that.

I loved the "can see it coming a mile away - Looney Tunes" moment with Baby Yoda and the Red/Blue wires plus I really liked seeing Gina back on the screen (just a little crush :D). There were few really minor "we need to drive the action onwards so lets do something we telegraphed earlier but make the reason to do it really weak" moments I noticed which felt out of character but overall I really liked this episode.

The gang can blast through dozen over Stormtroopers without issue, but suddenly just 2 troopers can now hold the gang back hard enough at the dock that the gang are "forced" to use the previously mentioned - in a foreshadowing absolutely no-one could have seen :D - speeder-barge thing, which to me is just a case of bad writing. I mean at least make it say 10 troopers or something like an emplaced gun etc to make the reason they are forced into the speeder-barge a more obvious necessity.

We've also get the obvious "Troopers can't hit anything even at point blank range" stuff which is great but that is then followed seconds later by a trooper hitting Mando in the back at 75m which is another tonal inconsistency but it'd would have been nice to acknowledge it, maybe Mando saying looking over his shoulder at impact mark on his jetpack, tilting his head and saying "hmmm" as he's saying "hmmm, you don't see that everyday" etc.

There's a few others but these are all fairly minor things that don't take away anything from the episode.

Still loving it. The episodes are short so small plots. I get the criticism about rinse repeat plots but it has that western serial feel and there is definitely an overall plot being delivered. So far we would be halfway through the first season of a normal network show and we’re way beyond where most of those would have gone. The fan service is being nicely done, it’s reverential “ we care as much as you do”. It feels like the directors aren’t exposing their own ego but pulling to a common cause.

I really liked seeing Gina back on the screen (just a little crush :D).

She seems to be trying her best to get fired from the role looking at some of her political tweets.

She also seems obsessed with men who’ve either portrayed a character who’s abused women or actually have abused women. Definitely up there on the crazy/hot graph :D
