I ordered a 100 7 O'Clocks from Shaving Shack for £10.99 (and the offers still on).

Though, a little warning, I slipped this morning and almost chopped off the bottom of my nose so I'd say they were pretty damn sharp! It's essentially left me half shaved and needing about 10 pints of water to recover the blood!

Styptic pencil couldn't stop that from bleeding other than to put the tube in the cut!

Edit: Doh out of stock at shaving shack - though shaving shack does have free delivery!

That's why I tried the 7OC before I tried a Feather blade. The 7OC are a good blade but I find the Feather better. Shame as, as you posted they are a decent price.

I've bought quite a few shaving products from overseas through eBay with no problem, including that eBay seller of the Feather blades.

The good thing about that seller is they say about a month for delivery. This gives me time to use up some of the other blades. The bad news is that's possibly another month of razor burn.

Weird I found it the other way around - I've not been impressed with the Feathers yet. I've had them as a freebie with the 7OC's and they didn't seem as sharp (bad batch?) but I've only tried 2 blades up to yet.

I'll give them another whirl tonight when I will complete this mornings shave a hell of a lot more carefully.

I've been revisiting Feather blades over the last couple of days having used nothing but Med Preps for the last month or so.

There's no question that I get very good shaves out of them but they're not quite as comfortable as the Preps. I'm smoother for longer with the Feather but I still prefer the Preps.

No sign of my new ATT razor set yet though and I'm starting to get a little concerned by that.

I'm getting rid of some stuff that I don't use, the first items to go are the Nanny's soaps as I didn't like them very much and I enjoy using cream more than soaps. I know creams work out as more expensive but I'm not doing this for the money saving and I like trying different creams. There's a PIF for the Nanny's soaps going at the B&B forum if anyone wants to join in there.

^ Worldwide/probably American PIF? That's one hell of a gesture Feek!

I would've held one back to try after a year or so, it's wonderful stuff when everything comes together. The type of product that gets better every time you use it.

Hope that stunning ATT set comes soon, did they actually ship it? They're all on back order at the moment.

Got a link to these blades? Is it the same as Personna platinum?

My wife treated me to some aftershave balm, smells lovely, rather like an aftershave so probably use it for special occasions; so may need another one for general use. :)
Looking forward to my next shave.
So glad I got into this thread and tried real shaving.

From TKMax btw.

Yup, tracking shows it passing through Miami on the 17th February but from there on, nothing. It wasn't sent with international tracking though so it's not possible to see where it went from there. I've known packages from the USA to take a month so although I'm a little concerned, I'm not actually worried yet.

I've used it two or three times and no matter how careful I am, I get nicks. I just don't have the time or the inclination to persevere with them, besides I much prefer creams to soaps and I've got a few to get through.

Just two soaps there and the tub with nothing on is two tubes of Old Spice squeezed into a tub. I also have a puck of MWF and a tub of green Proraso cream that I squeezed from a tube. A friend in Italy is sending me tubes of white and red Proraso cream :)

I made a suggestion to T&H and they offered to send me a set of samples. Because I already had a sample pack and had bought 1805, Grafton and Trafalgar, I asked for the Limes cream. I like the T&H creams but I don't like their aftershave balms, I've tried a couple from the sample pack and they work OK but leave my skin feeling greasy and sticky which seems to be a common complaint. I can see myself spending money on some of their aftershaves and colognes as well. *sigh*

No, it's a different blade. I buy from Connaught Shaving (here) but they're out of stock at the moment.

Me too!

I can't seem to get better than the 7 O'Clock Super sharp with my Muhle R98, tried one of the Wilkinson Swords again (the ones that I tried 1st when DE shaving) and it's nowhere near the 7 O'Clock (so gald I ordered 100 when I noticed them in stock at the shack).

I have got Tabac soap and Proraso Ultra Sensative Cream and I must admit the cream is way better than the soap, get no irritation and only the odd nick every few shaves.

Four shaves out of a Gilette Silver Blue so far and it still feels to be cutting good! Pretty impressive really. Going to bin it now though as I have others I want to try :)

As I now seem to be doing well with my DE shaving I was thinking of getting a longer handled razor, bearing in mind I have a Muhle R89 should I get a R89 Grande (sticking with what I know) or would I be better getting the Merkur 38C?

What would be a good upgrade from the Edwin Jagger DB89, I might pass that razor on to my brother if I can find a good replacement.

if you want another mild razor, the Weber razors are slightly more aggressive, but still very smooth.

i'm using a FaTip at the moment which is along more aggressive and way more efficient than a lot of my safety bar razors. You need good technique or it will remind you.

Merkur 37c Slant is also another very efficient razor.

most of my razors are Gillettes from 1918-1970's, all are very nice shaves with lots of variety.
