if you are looking for a specific razor, its well worth putting up a wanted post on B&B (you need 50 posts and 45 days on there iirc).

i was looking for my birth year and quarter gillette super speed, the same day i posted i got a reply, shipping was $4 from america for a DE.

Buy a variety pack from any of the normal sites. Derbys and Merkurs tend to be duller, with Feathers and Israeli blades being at the other end of the spectrum.

What cream and razor do you currently use?

I am currently using a merkur razor, merkur blades (down to my last one) and clinique shaving foam applied with a badger brush :D

Got some new bits in the post today. Do i really need to shampoo the brush?

Thats the same kit I started with Samsung, well it looks like the one I got from traditional shaving anyway. great kit & if that is the razor I think it is (Merkur HD34C) then you made an excellent choice. The taylors cream is great too.

I have unfortunately contracted this RAD thing, not as bad as some but I now spend hours ogling razors. I have a collection of about 10-15 creams & a few hundred blades.....so much for the saving money part lol. I used the HD34c for about 6 months & recently bought a Merkur Futur, now building my way up to nagging the mrs for a mergress razor which is a Merkur Progress that has been tweaked.

I just used my EJ Brush right out of the box, I gave it a few rinses & soaped it up. As has been said if it smells bad then I would have given it a shampoo.

Shaving is not manly :(

It really depends on what you see manly to be.

If you mean in the sense of manly - in what gay bears, lumberjacks, wooks, that type of thing then it is indeed not manly.

If you mean in the attractive to the opposite sex, businesslike, adult, clean, sophisticated, confident manner then yes it is.

While the subject has been mentioned..... I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to shave my scrotum. I have no intention at all, however shaving requires skin to be at, broadly speaking, exactly the opposite of a scrotum- taut and smooth. I wonder how it's done.

I, personally, trim the top area and then just use scissors to keep the scrotal area in check. Not had any complaints.

(Is this weird? Or is it weird that it's not weird? :o )

I have a personal trimmer which barely copes with my ears... it would not manage there. I don't see the risk in using a DE, in fact I think the risk would be from irritation rather than anything else, so a DE might fare better than a cartridge razor.

All hypothetical - until we discuss it for weeks and we all cave in one by one. Let's agree now, no pics. Ever.

Trimmer to get the length down of any areas you wish to. Take a hot shower and while in said shower lather up with foam, give a bit of a pull on the skin and use a safety razor. Heat should have made your balls drop to your knees so easy to keep tight.

If they didn't drop. Then it's just me who has super baggy balls. But smooth balls ;)

Should add that if you don't do it every other day prepare for some itch.

I got no problem letting the internet know how I groom down there. I couldn't find anything on the net so took some trial and error but it's all good. As for why I do it. I don't know, just feels fresher and as skinny pale guy doesn't look good with a forest of steel wool on his junk.

I am not taking my new shavette down there though. No way.
