The Marvels

I'm literally responding to the issues you raised with the film, if you want to raise that as an issue then go ahead. You can't say people aren't watching because of female characters then act shocked when I mention misogyny
Trust me I'm not shocked you gone down the Disney route  I'm just waiting on one of the other 3 disney defenders to join in :p

S: So what was the issue with the film?
C: Well people don't want to watch all female superhero films
S: So part of the issue is misogyny?
C: I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE BRINGING UP MISOGYNY

C: Well people don't want to watch movies with bland characters, bland writing, bland storytelling and shock, horror people prefer male superhero movies
S: OMG YOU ARE SO MISOGYNISTIC
C: yes shami, come on its time for bed now. You've got strawberry flavoured medicine today. Yummy

Most of the best known and loved superhero characters just happen to be male.

Coming up with a load of fringe overpowered female characters and expecting them to be as immediately popular as the established male characters is just dumb.

To be fair, it's not just because the main characters are female. It's because the film was already going to poor at best and the makers of the film decide to shoe-horn in female characters and make the male characters mostly unlikeable and wonder why no one wants to watch the film because the agenda of the film makers is being shoved down people's throats. If you then dare to point these fundamental issues out, you get called a bunch of names because their view is so intransigent they just can't cope with any other opinion than their own.

My partner can't stand this overbearing push in films and television and rolls her eyes harder than any man to be fair. Although she likes the girly Ghostbusters film so go figure....

You didn't give those most of those as a reason though? You gave two reasons, bland characters and people not wanting to watch films with all female heroes. Why are you flipflopping now

Huh? Which female characters were shoe-horned in? The male characters were mostly Nick Fury, Kamala's father and brother and the Skrull leader, what was wrong with them?

Learn to read big boy
Bland characters, bland storytelling, and as hard as is it for some folks to reconcile, people dont want all female superhero movies..The demographic its aimed at don't watch marvel movies, not a hard concept to grasp is it.

Everything wrong with current marvel can be summed up with a line from the movie..'Use your black girl magic'.

I think the problem is that we have seen the same thing, over and over again. I imagine even hardened fans are getting sick. Personally I had had enough after Iron-man but that's me. I'm not a fan of super heroes type things. I feel they are more suited to young children. My grandson likes this sort of thing and he's 8.

Which is fine, if you're bored of something then obviously don't watch it. If the demand isn't there and multiple films don't get interest then they'll probably stop making them. I've stopped watching plenty of shows but I would never demand they stop being made just because I don't watch them (not accusing you of this obviously).

What made the storytelling bland compared to other Marvel films?
Cappin marvel and photon are both dull, uninteresting characters, they have been in all the mcu outings they've been in, from the movies to wandavision. Kamela khan by all accounts is the best thing in it, but the character doesnt appeal to me, same as any of the 'young avengers' - I'm not the demographic (suppose that makes me ageist or something though..)

As to the story, spaceballs: the girls get it done edition? From what ive seen, the interaction between the characters lacks anything that can be considered remotely satisfying, the villain is a female Ronan (yawn, been there done that), the story is disjointed and has been done better, many times over.
And yes I see you left out the misogynistic part to make it look like I brought it up.
That's literally my entire post replying to you, you then decided to apply the child's guide to Internet discussion to it and go 'misogyny!!!'

Wait...you haven't seen it? The person with the most reponses in this thread hasn't even seen it? How can you possibly criticise the characters or the storytelling then

The fact you even responded to a question about the content of a film you haven't even seen is weird enough. It's like trying to criticise a book you haven't read
There's this amazing new invention called the internet where clips of movies and tv shows are freely available, it will blow your mind.

So your entire opinion of the film is second-hand. It's like reading a goodreads review and then critiquing a book  This is so precious, it's rare you see someone defeat themselves in an argument.

You're missing the point. My issue is not so much this particular film per se, but when an agenda of strong females over weak males is pushed - which this film could arguably be included - the film makers blame everyone else for what ultimately is a weak film made worse by an agenda.
