Each to their own i guess.

I can see why Lateralus is rated highly. The way all the tracks go together so seamlessly. If your a fan of Lateralus then I would recommend listing to Lateralus - The Holy Gift. Its basically Lateralus re-ordered into the Fibonacci sequence. Without going too deep there's a lot of strange time signatures hidden within the tracks that fall very oddly into the Fibonacci sequence when re-ordered.

I agree Lateralus is an amazing album, absolutely. But pretty much their whole sound changed between Enema and the release of it. Its strange to hear a Tool fan rate Lateralus above the previous 2 though. Enema is highly regarded as their best album. So many good tracks on the first 2 albums!

To name but a few:

Undertow -Sober, Prison Sex, Bottom
Enema - Push it, Stinkfist, Eulogy, Jimmy, H

All classics, but yeh, I really dislike 10,000 days, lol.

And to echo what others have said, please do come to the UK, Tool. I would die a happy man if I get to see them play at least once in my life.

10,000 Days is amazing. It's a different headspace altogether, but just as immersive as Lateralus. It's an amazing evolution to me, far less cryptic and more direct than previous work, less existentialism and way more emotional, and much much darker. There's death all over the place and also glimmers of hope, even the humour is back though (Rossetta Stones) which was somewhat lacking on Lateralus. Enough with the crazy Tool fan talk.

Jesus that was boring. Like a crap Slayer.

Riff was boring first time. You repeated it??!! Uh Ok.

Wait...........4 times???!!!! AND THEN ANOTHER 4 TIMES WITH A "SOLO" OVER IT? Kill me.

Each to their own, would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing. I love straight ahead metal, for me it doesn't need to disappear up its own arse in a quagmire of off kilter time signatures and psuedo intellectual lyrical bull-****!

Ah well, apologies for insulting your obviously superior taste & intellect. Here's some more, I hope it's not too repetitive for you, you, you, you, you, you, you ,you ,you!:p

Apology accepted. :p

The new Deftone's album is pretty damn good .... they were always slightly experimental band and I never considered them "nu metal" at all.

Some top releases this year from Enslaved, Gojira & Converge ..... its a damn good time to be a metal fan.
