This album was fantastic. A real return to form from Opeth.

I gave it 7 seconds and stuck on The Moor.

I've not listened to anything since Deliverance, tried getting into Damnation and Ghost Reveries but gave up. Too far from what I was interested in. I remember seeing them in 2003 at the Mean Fiddler, just before they released Damnation. Fantastic gig.

Unrelated, I've been listening to a lot of Oranssi Pazuzu lately.

Great stuff above ^

One of the best straight up metal albums out there ,Blaze Bayleys solo stuff is massively underrated

The GOAT

The Ozzy Sabbath is fantastic. Is the Dio era just as good?

The Tony Martin era was very underrated. Really different singing style and musically it was less doom and more NWOBHM with a bit of early power metal influence. Martin basically got screwed simply for not being Ozzy or Dio, even though he's an incredible singer in his own right.

I went to Brixton Academy in London on Friday to see Sabaton, supported by Twilight Force and Accept.

Twilight Force I only knew by name from the magazines, never actually listened to them and found them very Rhapsody of Fire/Gloryhammer-like. They were not too bad though.

Accept are legends in their music and they did a pretty good set which the crowd was really lapping up.

Sabaton had for the first time I saw them been able to bring their proper stage show (fireworks!! pyro!! fire!!) and they were the usual ****-taking selves and every time I have seen them they really seem to enjoy themselves and have fun on the stage. The setlist was pretty good and they played a few songs I wouldn't have expected to hear. And they got rid of "Swedish Pagans" pretty quick in the set so we didn't have to hear the shouts for that too long.

But Swedish Pagans has possibly one of the best choruses ever!

it is a good song, but it can be pretty tiring to hear the crowd shout for it too long. They started to sing it pretty much as soon as Accept had gone of the stage..

I'm really looking forward to Friday to see Meshuggah :)
