Thanks for the post, I'm currently making my way through Last.fm reccomendations to find more bands. 
Some quite nice stuff there, [noodle]. You probably have already heard of Textures but I'd check them out if you don't know them.
Here's a song from a band I'm really enjoying at the moment. 90s prog from when Psychotic Waltz were at their least proggy. Still a great album.
And some CLASSIC death metal from one of the very best albums in the genre.

Not sure how much if at all they've been mentioned so far in this topic but I love Isis, Rosetta and Mouth of the Architect. I've only seen one of them - Isis here in Birmingham three years ago - and they were absolutely perfect.
