Because he has no personality, he doesn't speak, and he only does what you tell him to.

It's arguable which is the best gaming series. *but* as a character freeman isn't as good as snake. There isn't much of a personality with him, therefore snake wins. Sorry guys.

I voted Freeman for my personal reasons, but I don't go bashing the other vote. I think Freeman has done a lot considering he doesn't speak and you don't see him in game. That's quite a feat right there from the devs/story tellers.

Not to mention how much you learn about freeman from other characters.

Freeman isn't a character. He just happens to be you. Snake is a character. Do you see the difference? Barney is more of a character than Freeman is. Put it this way, Freeman as a character is roughly on par with Doomguy.

I just can't vote for snake because of how aweful the MGS series became.

MGS 1 and Snake Eater are masterpeices.
