Besides, your 4.3 auto is listed as Fuel Economy: Combined 23.0 so I can't see how it's "much worse" than yours.

I wasn't criticising, i was commenting on the fact that you must indeed drive it rather "swiftly" to get 23mpg from it!

19ish around town, about 28 on the motorway.

3.2 litre Jaguar XJ6
15-17 around town, 28 on long motorway trippage.

Fiesta 1.25 Mk5 get somewhere from 31-36mpg, bloody abysmal and I don't even drive it that fast (or at all now someone pulled out on me and probably wrote it off)

Old Swift 1.0 with the whopping 3 cylinder powerhouse of an engine got more like 50mpg, even if you ragged the **** off it it still got in the mid 40s

Usually 42mpg on my work commute, around 45 on motorways, and if im heavy with my right foot, around 35 (New car, dont feel like thrashing it just yet, so its moderate)

My suzuki swift 1.3 glx 1997 does 150 miles on £14-15 of LPG (30-31L). That was with a blown exhaust, exhaust is fixed now so might do better.
