ok i think i sorted m monitor set it to winbond 2 diode

ran prime for 2.30 no errors

temp was at max of 54 this was with normal stock h/s

does that seem like its ok to you

also for what it is worth i dont know what it does lol but that super pi gave a time for 1meg of 38 secs

Cool you might want to try lower volts if possible I had mine on 3.25v for a little bit but it may make it instable (mine was), but it will drop the temps buy a couple of degrees.

Does anyone have a link to a Overclocking Guide for this motherboard? Hopefully with reccomnedations for Bios version etc... Had a little play when it arrived then backed it off to stock as my memory wasnt up to it... Now i have Geil Platinum DDR4000...

Also i have seen the problem peeps are having with the XP-120 I put mine on and bent the cap out of the way but then fitted my Reserator... Shortly after i fitted a Arctic Cooler for the Radeon X800Pro Vivo@XT, Now i am thinking of selling the reserator and putting the XP-120 on the board but does it have fitting probs with the Rear Heatsink of the Arctic Cooler? Any Pics of them fitted together?

Have a look here.
Also look here.

The best BIOS for you will depend on what you are trying to achieve, but some of the later ones don't do the volts that well.
See thread. (Post down a bit by polygon)
I'm not sure on the newer 1.8 BIOS, but the best for volts was the 136 BIOS.
Just make sure you use PG UP and PG DN (or + and -) to change the HTT if using that BIOS though.

O'h and be a bit carefull with all the BIOS's.
The 1.52 that was a beta release by MSI gave a few people grief, so find one that a few use with success.

Im using the official 1.8 bios from MSI, my venice is happily at 2.8/280 - 1.6 volts.

On another note, my system seams to have a hardware fault that ive not fully fixed, firstly note this problem happens at default and overclocked settings so its not the OC thats causing the fault..

My system while running a [email protected] started to BSOD after a few months of solid running, when set to defaults would then fail to boot, removed 1 slave hdd and the system was stable again for a few days then it started again, underclocked pc and vga and all seamed fine again... now i just put in my new venice and find that prime95 fails in 30secs overclocked or not yet 3Dmark 2001se, sysoft sandra run fine with overclock, even ran SS burn in without a problem but then i ran Delta Force Extreme for 30mins and it locked up the PC ???

Im thinking either power or the IDE controller.

idle temp around 35
under load around 45

any ideas, will unplug all IDE hdd tonight and test to see if the fault remains, this will rule out IDE and PSU with so little left to run.

I have seen others have prime fail for no reason, so maybe that's just a prime thing.
Crashes after 30 mins of gaming is a pain tho :(

You have a lot of gear in that, so what are you volts like when it's doing something?

Almost sounds like it locks when the graphic cards in use (apart from prime that is) so have a go at looping a 3dmark and see if that locks it.
Thinging..whats your AGP bus set to?

Has anyone else installed the new 1.8 bios yet? are there any problems with it? i'm currently on the 1.4 bios but i'm thinking of getting a 3200 venice, is a higher bios needed for that?
