The MSI Neo2 Platinum Owners Help Thread

I have mine running at

Ram: 3 2 2 8

11x220fsb 4x

Ive not tried to push it yet but so far this is solid as a rock and im getting over 25000 3dmark01

work damn you.

Does anyone have any ideas what would be causing WinXP to display a message along the lines of "File txtsetup.oem caused an unexpected error (512) at line 1747 in ....." (..... = some winxp source file).

It is happening every time I try to give it the RAID drivers from the floppy. I've tried different floppy drives, different floppy disks, recreating the floppy from the supplied CD, the NVIDIA drivers did the same thing, I have even tried different WinXP versions, but always with the same results; either I get the message above or it just asks me to enter the floppy disk again.

Any ideas ... anyone?

This happened to a friends system and was fixed by downloading the latest SATA\RAID drivers from the chipset manufac site..

Good luck

Similarly mine has just finished a prime95 run for 9 hours with the following setup

RAM 2.5-3-3-8

11x220FSB 4xHT

24000 3dmark2001 on a gainward 6800 GT

I'm using the OCZ pc3200 EL series ram, looks like the EB will maybe clock higher...

Ofcourse it could be due to the fact that it also says "..., Setup will load support of the following mass storage devices(s):

<none>"

? - should it be stating a drive at this point?

i know i can push it more, but im having a problem now where 3dmark wont run........

im pretty sure its my antivirus programme (the only thing different to before) but i dont know how to get round it .......?

How do I make my RAM show up in CPU-Z as DUal Channel ??

I have 2x512 Corsair XMS3200C2PT but CPUz shows it as Single Channel.

Also I seem to have timings in CPUZ as (in order from the top):

Frequency: 201 mhz
FSB: DRAM CPU/11
Cas: 3
RAS to CAS: 3
RAS Precharge: 3
Tras: 8
Trc: 11
DRAM idle Timer: 16 clocks

What do you guys recommend for this RAM? The PC is not overclocked and wont befor a while.

Also, do i need to flash the latest Bios for this bpard? Is it essential?

With a 6800GT, A64 3500, Corsair XMS3200C2PT im getting 3dMarks of:

2001 = 15,500
2003 = 8000

From these its apparent that the CPU/RAM are not doing what they should be :( Any help greatly apprecitaed

Have you got it in the right slots, or has the manual confused you into putting it into the green ones?
Green slots are one channel, and purple is other, so you need a stick of each in a different colour to get dual channel.

Preferably slots 1 and 2 from the CPU up.

That MSI Diagram is RUBBISH!! I have an Intel System with the Asus P4C800E-Dlx and the diagram laid out for that Dual channel is soooo easy!!

Thanx again for the heads up man :)

I cant speak for your ram, but these and someone else overclocked settings.
That's as tight as he could run OCZ EB at that FSB, but it's not a bad bench.
Think it's been said the low latency doesn't make much diff on AMD 64 systems.

In fact he said.
"I still can't get my 3700EB to work at anything other than 3,3,3,10 at 1t with stability though!"

Also, do i need to flash the latest Bios for this bpard? Is it essential?
I wouldn't if it's stable, and you have no intention of overclocking.
