Hey guys - how long did your mortgage approvals take from the point all paperwork was submitted?
Turns out that after her husband passed away our buyer's buyer needed to get a new full mortgage approval check done with her lender, its been a month now and no news since that process re-started
B&Q.
3M worktop - £75 (cut in store to length)
2 x 70cm brushed aluminium effect legs - £4.50 each
Edging strips (need to trim about 3 inches off each) - £7.50 a pop
2x1 wood length - £6
3x2 wood length - £10-12
Cable grommets (arriving later today) - 99p a pop on the bay (60mm internal diameter)
Various screws and rawl plugs - £5-7
Just over £100, but massive work space with no visible cables at the right height and solid as you like.
About 10 days for 1st one.2 days

The vendor is going to pay for the treatment required, so all is going ahead! We'll be exchanging tomorrow, and completing the following Thursday. THANK CHRIST. (Don't actually thank Christ. It was all me).
It took us nearly exactly one month from submitting the last piece of evidence to our solicitor getting a mortgage offer through the post.
I don't mind if ours takes a while as it means things are still being paid off, i.e. chipping away at existing mortgage. It can take as long as required as long as the "chain" doesn't break
