SO much work to be done!

First major problem in my process, found out earlier this week that I've lost my job (long story, won't go into the details here) which I had only just started. If it had just happened a month later it would still have sucked but at least the house would have been sorted!

Bum! Has your mortgage application gone through yet? What are the implications? :(

Been through this process 4 times now and i know how stressful it all can be. Worst bit i found was waiting to exchange.

Moving day was exciting!

With our present house we had the keys to it late in the day, around 5pm!! The wife and i were the movers as we did it all ourselves. It was hard going!

We are in the very final bit before formal offer and almost ready to set a date for exchange. We have to tell the mortgage company as although we would almost certainly get away with it the consequences are to high for us to take the risk.

We are holding off for a week or so to try and have another job lined up rather than just saying to them that I've lost mine. Our mortgage broker thinks it will cause a delay but not scupper the whole process. Fingers crossed!

Good luck in your job hunt. I hope it all works out for you mate!

We have moved! Stuff is still in boxes, but the old house is now empty, and we're in the process of unpacking in between working days. :)

what a mess, the women who has been a night mare from the get go had not packed anything (she said she was expecting it to fall through) ...i mean WTF?!
she then advised us she was leaving some bits.

bench and shed, both Rot!

freezer door had been left open some long time ago and had a 2inch think layer of ice on the front, then i found the whole freezer was actually an ice block . 2 hours later i hacked through it all.

on sat i de greased the patio floor and removed a fallen over arch that a tree had raped it self around.

oh man, what a nightmare :( hope it all works out for you! I guess in some respects at least its before you've purchased so you don't have problems paying the mortgage but still horrible time to happen :(

It amazes me how many people just don't plan and seem to think leaving their place a proper mess is acceptable :( We fully cleaned our place before we moved out but regardless i'd want to clean the new house when we finally find it...

apparently were getting nearer to the exchange!

My place was an absolute mess when i took the keys, filthy from top to bottom, garden 3ft long grass.

When i sold i made sure my place was clean. Its the decent thing to do.

I know this varies but how long after full mortgage offer in place to getting the keys when no chain? I'm still waiting on outcome of searches at the moment (should have been started a month ago) but mortgage offer is in place and hopefully my solicitors now have everything from the sellers solicitors (they messed up causing a 2-3week delay previously).

Had an offer accepted today, the house needs a hell of a lot of work but is £80k less than others are currently selling for on the same street.

Hopefully ill be uploading pics and making my own progress thread soon!

Finally exchanged! Completion set for next week :D Only taken 4 months, a month of that due to a last minute setback. It was a three person chain with us sat at the top (moving to rented while we find & do up new place) and a buy to let at the bottom

listed: 27 March
Offer accepted: 12 April
Exchanged: 12 Aug

So relieved :)
