The New Cases Gallery

Some pictures from juli 2009 of my secondary gaming rig. Cablemangement in the CM 690 is a bit tougher compared to the HAF 922 I also have. The Tt Toughpower cables are very thick and it's just vent behind the backpanel and the case panel could just close - but I love the looks of the CM 690 nv ed. I'm a sucker for black 'n green :D. Unfortunately the long PCI-E cables can't be put away on the back, then the panel can't be closed. So the long PCI-E cables had to be rounded around the bottom 80mm fan in a "snake" like curling position.
Anyhow I will do some re-cabling in a few days time when the two EVGA GTX 470 SC cards arrive. I'll put either an Aerocool Moder-V or Touch 1000 fancontroller in the case - it depends on which arrives first :)

Well to the CM 690 system there's a Samsung Syncmaster 245B 24"TFT 1920x1200 and to the HAF922 system there's an Asus VW266H 26"TFT 1920x1200.
I used to have a 30"TFT I got from my old work for ½ price, but the back panel lighting died... and warrenty was out. Getting a new 30"TFT is just more than I'm willing to pay.
I have no need of multiple displays, but I since I'm playing at 1920x1200 and preferably with 16xAA/16xAF it demands some graphical power to uphold some playable framerates.;)

1500W = overkill

It was on sale at the time of purchase and was cheaper than the Tt 1000w and 1200w models :) I think normal price was £265 but was selling for £177.

that not killing the 5970 performance wise?

No why ? All newer drivers support independent clockspeeds/shader units etc. Just like SLi where different clockspeeds on cards is now fully supported (has been so for a year).:cool:
Many people on the Guru3D forums have run TriFire with HD5970+HD5870 and HD5970+HD5850 and performancewise the results are near identical, just a few percentages differes, that costs a lot more :) So after reading and listening to their results etc I decided that a HD5850 would be the more 'sane' choice when going CFX.

Ive gone from an antec 300 to an antec 902, thought why not as it only cost me £57

From this : Snip...

To This

That looks good...

I do like the 902, however, the one thing I do dislike (a bit anyway), is the fact that you have to remove 8 screws to remove the HDD cage, I know you could simply not bother with them...but...

When I bought mine it was either a HAF922/932 or 902, but I thought the 922/932 brute ugly, so bought the 902 instead...
