Not exactly in a case at the moment but this is how it's looking now.

I keep the 1TB & 1.5TB hard drives out and have them in my external enclosure.

Motherboard is on the removable tray from the case.

Once spent 6 months without a case, never had any problems. :)

Lava lamp will be put into the case instead of using LEDs. ;)
 
Looking at all the good jobs people have done on cable management puts my lack of care to shame. I usually just plug everything in and then make sure no fan is being blocked. Don't really do anything else, but with my next build I'll be taking a bit more care.

I used to be the same, sometimes you can have death by fan's/control panels.

My first build was a mess, my 2nd had a few goals in mind. Keep these in mind:

1) Limit the fan control panels
2) Only use SATA
3) Buy a mobo with SATA connections not in the middle of the board
4) Tuck the 24pin behind the mobo tray before fixing it.
5) Take your time and wire each cable one by one.
 
do you guys think the p183 would be better over the antec mini p180? that is the case i was originally going to buy but the size difference in only about 10 cm in depth and height. What advantage do atx motherboards have over mini atx boards?
