Multiple reports confirming a number of clubs have agreed to form a new European Super League.

Participants so far agreed are;

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Inter
A.C. Milan
Juve
United
City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Spurs
Arsenal

Respective fans of these clubs should be in very disappointed by this. Hopefully the different leagues kick them out.

I suspect this won't actually end up happening, although if there's any truth in the previous stories about it having FIFA backing then who knows. The reformed CL was meant to be tied up the other week and wasn't due to the ECA wanting a greater say in how the competition is run - some reports claimed that UEFA had agreed to this but backed out later.

Whatever happens, these "hopefully the different leagues kick them out" comments are so ridiculous. The top tier leagues are the top tier leagues because of these clubs. The day the PL kicked out the biggest clubs would be the end of the PL. We already know that possibility of the big 6 rejoining the EFL has been discussed by both the FA and EFL bosses as part of the Project Big Picture stuff - the only losers would be the 14 clubs left in the PL, a League that nobody would want to be in or join in the future.

Awful decision. What’s makes the CL exciting is that you don’t see those teams face each other often. It’s a clash of styles and culture. Would kill the PL as well.

UEFA are set to announce the new format UCL tomorrow, the timing makes me think it's just another power grab by the clubs.
I suspect UEFA have known of these talks for a long time, they get leaked before every UEFA meeting regarding the format of the CL. It's all brinkmanship though. Although I think it's going to happen one day, I don't think these clubs want to breakaway at the moment but they're going to use the threat of it to get what they want. The PL, La Liga, Serie A & the CL has no value without the biggest clubs and these clubs know that and so do these Leagues and the rest of the sides in them - a compromise will be reached.

The worst thing about these situations is the hypocritical crowing of supporters of smaller PL clubs. Clubs that have done to the EFL what the big 6 want to do to them.

What exactly is this? Another league the teams will play in? I assume none of them will withdraw from the leagues they are in
It's a replacement for the CL consisting of 15 permanent sides and 5 sides that qualify via their domestic performance (no idea how). It's the latest gun being held to UEFA's head by the biggest sides to gain more say in the running of the CL.

I'd imagine they'd all have to withdraw from their domestic leagues as it probably breaches some rule. If that's the case it makes the domestic qualification part even more confusing.

This just wouldn't happen. This Super League would be bad for the other 14 PL sides but losing the big 6 would kill it. The PL without the big 6 is no more valuable than the Championship - the moment these clubs aren't invovled TV contracts are cut 90% and so are the values of the other 14 clubs. Mike Ashley, Steve Parish etc aren't going to inflict this on themselves.

Do it. Can't wait for the backlash. Yanks at it again. Don't have to guess which clubs is pushing this.

Whats next? relocation for teams joining the super league.

Hah

The constant expansion of the competition and the additional games. The new format UEFA are putting forward would mean CL games going into January...that's ridiculous.
You do realise that the reason for the constant expansion of the CL is because this is what the biggest clubs have pushed for? The very reason UEFA are planning to reform the CL, adding more games and giving more security to the biggest clubs is because the biggest clubs have been holding the European Super League gun to their head.

As I said in my first reply, the reformed CL plans were due to be signed off the other week only for a last minute disagreement over the running of the competition with the biggest clubs wanting a greater say in the commercial running of the CL.
