The New European Super (borefest) League

Some of the owners like Roman are in it for the glory, the ESL takes the completely away from the game and the fans.

Although should have never signed in the first place.

It is obvious it was Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal pushing this. Chelsea and City seem to have just gone along with it because they want to be at the top. Spurs will more than likely stay till the end because Levy is a cockroach.

When you put in a transfer request you forfeit your wages, no player is going to do that.

no you don't. The club can't stop paying you your normally weekly wage, they can however pull any bonus type payments. Also a transfer request has no actual legal standing, so if a club decides to stop paying a player who hands in a transfer request they will see themselves in court for breach of contract.

I bet this new champs league will include so called big clubs that don't actually need to qualify....
They've kind of already announced that. I made the point a couple of times in this thread, UEFA have just approved a new format for the CL, a format that was designed to prevent the big clubs breaking away - more money for sides based on their coefficient + 2 guaranteed spots for the highest ranked sides that don't qualify via their League.

The deal to buy Palace & Selhurst Park out of admin was sub £5m (which was split between the entire consortium) and they may have put a few £m in on top after, although this would have likely been a directors loan rather than straight cash. How much did Parish himself invest? If we're generous we could say £5m but likely to have been much less. On the basis of Newcastle being worth £350m, even if we're really conservative we could say Palace is worth around £200m, of which Parish now owns 18% of. That's a massive profit and doesn't factor in how much he received when he reduced his stake a few years back.

He only profits when he sells. Palace might be worth £200m now, how much if they get relegated?

Looks like it falling apart. Clubs are pulling out quicker than a 15 year old with no condom. If they all pull out then they still need to be punished, all 6 clubs should start the next 6 seasons with a 50 point deficit.

In a way it had to happen because ten years ago you had the normal big four. Then Spurs and City joined the club and there is too much money in the English game. This pretty much guarantees that the top 6 will qualify for the champions League near enough all the time. Although Leicester will put a spanner in the works and no doubt over the years their will be a big 8 or even a big ten. Premier League will become the defacto super League anyway.

All that is going to happen is total dominance of the English game in Europe which I am against. This fiasco has just opened my eyes to just how bleak the future is.

I do think if they all pull out they should be punished in some way. It has to be meaningful, not a slap on the wrist.
